Rigging sometimes has a lot of back and forth, which was a more apparent this time around.
I layed out the new x-ray bits over the old ones, but realized it needed more control for the individual bits.
Just like the 'zip-up' key, I created individual keys for each 25 left and right walls to move in and out when scaling the walls on insertion. This makes it easier to control both left and right sides together, without having to type in the values manually when doing an animation. This setting may be more for unique shapes, but should also help get some finer detail.
However this means that I now need to layout the x-ray bits again. This won't take long, and I was expecting something like this to happen because this is common in rigging.
So far the current step is still 'Blending x-ray'.
I have to say it's very tempting for me to skip some steps, there is a notion in the back of my mind telling me that all these 'small details' could be redundant, but I'm trying to stay true to the plan to get close to 100% before the game port, without having to go back and forth between Game engine and 3D software too much.
I managed to get a stream running last Friday, I would have done one today but I decided to use it on some work for the rig.
I know I have mentioned this many times before, but if you are a supporter, please do consider Tier 1. The speed of my progress is not what I want it to be, but unfortunately I can't control IRL. I'm not sure if I mentioned this but I only have 1 day free a week from work. There always seems to be some things dragging away the little free time I have, good and bad. I'm not sure if many of you can relate, but lately I personally haven't even had much time for videogames either. When I was younger I used to game so much more, I don't know if it's because I'm getting older, or the price & promise of games these days is not the same.
Otherwise it was lovely to catch up with those who managed to catch the stream, and I hope to do more soon!
