A Festive What Up

 Good afternoon you festive geese,

If you celebrate Christmas how was it? A veritable blast? Certainly was on my side. I got one of these. 

It’s called a ‘venova’. Yamaha essentially reduced a saxophone down to an itty bitty size via some kind of shink-ray. I’ve never played woodwind before. I’ve been practicing a lot since. Mainly just before sunrise. My neighbours are really happy about it. They simply can’t get enough. 

I popped home to England to see family, friends, cats etc, and what a lovely trip that was. When one only goes home every year or so, there’s a lot to forget. Namely: how amazing sausage rolls are, and the miracle of mince pies. The countryside is wonderful too.

I won’t labour the point about the new book, but it’s…coming along. There have been some major fuck ups on my side with the page design and I’ve had to go back through it and meticulously correct...well….everything. So bear with me please; The Fifth Science is coming as a paperback, but it’ll need a little more love. 

Aside from that, I assume some of you have watched the new Black Mirror? I really dig the creative boldness. I imagine at this point they could insist the new special has to be watched upside down in an aquarium full of custard and most of us would go along with it. Anyway, it was some good shit and you’ll like it too, I suspect.

Are you reading anything good? I listened to the audiobook of Northern Lights from the His Dark Materials trilogy and it blew my fucking socks off; such, such, such, such good world-building. Book suggestions for the new year would be much welcome.

In any case, if it’s quite all right with you, I’m going to accept your kind patronage for this month as I’m currently working on something new. I won’t give it away, but as always I just hope you dig it. 

I hope you’re having a jolly old time, especially this evening when the new year hits. It’s amazing how excited we get about another revolution around the sun, but man I’m just glad Earth is still obeying gravity.
