Should I remake the first Frankie animation this month?

EDIT: IT HATH BEEN DECIDED. I'll redo it. Thanks for this, you guys. Yesterday marked the two year anniversary of me posting it, and it's literally bothered me this whole time. By fixing this, I'll be a little less deranged. Maybe.

Y'all get used to polls, I'm gonna use them a whole lot more.

Recently, someone asked me when I was going to "continue the Frankie arc." At first, I thought it was just a funny way of putting it, but it got me thinking that I sort of had a set going there that was telling a story. So it was an arc. It was always something I intended to continue, especially since I've heard a lot of people tell me that those animations are their favorites, but the truth is, I've always really, really hated how they turned out.

I cut so so so many corners when I was making them, and maybe you guys don't see them, but it's like... been burning in the back of my mind. When I first made the first one, I was like... so disappointed with how it turned out that I honestly thought I was going to get cyber-bullied. Which is really ironic, since the opposite happened. But still, I feel mostly guilty for how it turned out. I KNEW I could've done better at the time, and I KNOW I could do better now.

My idea is to redo the first one, while keeping the same vibe, but go into the whole "arc" with some actual planning done. Plan out the whole set of animations so it's a nicer, more consistent package, experiment with some storytelling across some short animations. Plus, artists do that kinda thing all the time, right? Redraw some of their early shit. I dunno, it's been two years, maybe that's enough time? It's like... picking up a really long game that you have a save file in, that you haven't touched in over a year. When I play games like that, I just start over, since I usually can't remember what I'm doing.

I asked the person mentioned above, they gave an enthusiastic yes. I've asked some friends the same question, their answers varied. I now want to hear from the majority of you guys, my treasured goons. If y'all want this, I'll shoot for starting it on the 20th. Then I'll probably resume a more consistent Frankie-posting schedule.

Thank you thank you. I was thinking about one day drawing smut comics. I'd get to write those.

I'm a bit late to the party here, but I just wanted to say that your posts are always a treat to read when it comes to writing and humor. Maybe you should write smut, instead of drawing it, haha . No matter what you talk about, it's always compelling.

Oh man, I could write an essay on that. For starters, it's animated "On 3's" instead of "On 2's," meaning every frame is held for three frames instead of 2. I think the industry standard is On 2's. Every animation I've done lately is On 2's, to me it just looks much smoother. Since that first one is On 3's, it looks very slow and stiff. It's an easy fix. I also think her starting posture is awkward and stiff, Bloo's hand moves really awkwardly, and her eyes slide around like one of those Scooby Doo paintings, where the villain removes the painting's eyes and looks through it...? If you know what I'm talking about...? God I hope you do. I think also just how I draw clothing is a bit better, and I'm sure I could make her face and hair look nicer as well. I DO like how I did the motion of her lifting her shirt and dropping her skirt, and I remember liking how her sleeve bunches up. I think I did a good job there, and I'll just refer to how I did it then for when I redo it. I also like the camera blur, even though it's silly. Oh, and I'd make the background myself this time around, I just ripped it from the show and it always made me feel grimy. But, like I said, I would match the vibe as best as I can, I want it to feel exactly the same, just better.

That dog is great!

If it wouldn't bother you, can you explain the specific issues you have with the original? As a casual, that animation is legendary, so it'd be interesting to know why you think it was no good.
