Colluseum is a treasure mentioned as one gets authority after winning, but not the inheritance. One of the possibilities is that nobody succeeded, and the inheritance had never been claimed, but the trials continued.

To be fundamentally opposed to the existence of dragons, claiming they lack divinity, stinks of being indoctrinated (and maybe even possessed) by this Dragon Phantom

2026-03-13 12:30:22 +0000 UTCAh, this almost scraped by me, but apparently the Flameclaws were around in this era, and cross-referencing the other chapter which implied Svetlana was born soon after the Scaled Ones departed, that means she was alive for this, too. And since she took the trial and won... um... my train of thought is flagging here. I want to say it means that either Svetlana in real life is the sole survivor of this historical event, and repurposed the whole thing as the Spirit Hunt for... some reason... or Svetlana took it after the Spirit Hunt was already established and had nothing to do with this.

2026-03-12 03:28:28 +0000 UTCNow I'm curious about people who won the trial in previous years like the current Flameclaw Matriarch. Did they go through anything similar? I'm going to go with "no," because 1) as I understand it, in previous years, there were 4 trials until a winner was declared, 2) Jade has not seen any of the other trial combatants since she arrived, 3) the trials from previous years were "televised" for the fans in the stadium. I'm confident nothing like Jade's current trial has ever been seen before because she would already know much about this trial.

2026-03-12 02:34:42 +0000 UTCSo Jade is back at the original colosseum trial meaning that the colosseum is supposed to be an inheritance trial which begs the question. Why does the current colosseum put people in a trial that isn't always the same time as where Jade is now? Could it have been changed? Many many interesting questions this brings up. Also there are 6 keys, one Alexei has, one the other drakkari has, one of the priests of the tyrant dragon guy had the green one so there are 3 more keys missing well 4 as the priest's key isn't in anyone's hand right now or Jade doesn't know where he is. I assume she will need the keys to complete the trial then.
