Added 2023-11-08 19:00:18 +0000 UTCTried something a bit more like a pin-up this time around. I know some of you have said you prefer those, so I hope you like this one! I can never get enough of these water nymphs lol. And painting moss, stones and sand by a riverside is deeply relaxing to me, so I had fun. π Will probably return to something with a bit more action in the next one. There's a chance I might want to paint the demon girl sketch I included here, but I might wanna do a few more sketches too, so we'll see!

Those of you keeping up with how my painting technique changes from picture to picture will probably notice I tried a different approach to the start of this painting compared to past ones. I usually sketch with fat lines and kinda blend them into the shading, but this time I refined the sketch with some loose thin lineart instead and used the lasso tool to fill in flat colors. I like that this allows very easy and clean selections which makes the process of adding the lighting a lot easier. It feels like a pretty good and relatively quick way to get through the early stages compared to some other approaches I've tried in the past. I'll have to try it some more.

2023-11-13 17:24:21 +0000 UTCI focus mostly on original work because it's what I get the most enjoyment out of. Fan art can sometimes be fun too though, and I do sometimes wish I'd maybe do more fan art. It'd be fun to draw obscure characters I enjoy but I don't see people do fan art of very often.

The pose is just so incredibly sensual, I love the fur cloak/coat that frames her breasts and the way she cups one of them. So sexy how she's bottomless too, with her naughty bits hidden between her closed thighs. The colours are perfect too, that very pale purple-grey skin tone is gorgeous and I really like the dashes of red for the eyes, lips, fingernails and jewellery. Her hair looks lovely too, sweeping, flowing and curling about. I would definitely love to see this lady again in future! πβ€οΈ (The hand wrapping around the breast is just so stupidly hot πΉπ») And that purple demon girl, "Sketch1" looks glorious and I adore the colours, lighting and textures for "Doodle6" And now to the main event and hoo boy, these colours are just so beautiful! ππ I love the cool feel to this environment, with the greens and blues of the leaves, water and that glowy-fog effect that sits behind the main tree. I really like what you've done with the lighting and colours of the tree, with the bark being much greener at the top, but then receiving these warmer colours to it's lighting towards the bottom. The stark contrast between light and dark values on both the tree and the rocks surrounding it look so striking too. I particularly like it on the rocks, where dark shadows cut through the brighter tones, giving great definition to the plane changes there. Everything else has lovely shapes, textures, rendering and colours too, the smaller rocks, the water, the leaves on the sand. You've created a really beautiful scene, with stunning lighting and gorgeous, vibrant and contrasting colours. I absolutely adore how you paint these natural environments πππππ As for the lady herself... hoo boy, I too can not get enough of these water nymphs! What is with making women blue that is just so insanely appealing? πΉπ I just love her pose and expression, she looks so sensual and inviting, the way she reclines back, her breasts spread across her chest is perfect and her smile as she looks our way is beautiful π₯° The foreshortening as she leans back is really well done, both on her torso and her legs and I like that the angles of her shoulders and hips are subtly opposed, just adding that extra touch of dynamism to her, same with how one leg is posed higher than the other. A detail I really enjoy is how her hair looks wet, with strands clinging to her forehead and chest, due to the rain πΈ And the rendering and colours on her are just exquisite! The shades of blue across her look so vibrant, especially with the dashes of her purple mixed into parts of her, as well as the green bounce-lighting from the water. Her hair has a lovely shine to it and the volume of the strands and separation between them are so well done. I especially like how they wrap over her chest, adding further definition to her body too. The textures on her feet and calves look so good too, with this beautiful and painterly style. The bright, white shine spots, the green hue from the water and the purple tinting to her toes and knees all work to make her look so vibrant as well. I really like how you did her left toes too, to make them look distinct and like they're being affected by the water. The plane changes on her calves look fantastic, with the hard edges really showing that rippling definition. Her thighs are gorgeous too with a soft light bathing them from above, smoothly blending into the shadows below, with a mix of green and even sandy-coloured bounce-lighting from below. Her abs are just spectacular, love that muscle definition, same with the definition of her pecs showing up from beneath and between her breasts. Speaking of which, the shapes of her breasts are beautifully done, I love the way they sink across her chest, with soft lighting framing her nipples, with dark shadows wrapping around their lower planes, even with colours from the environment blended in. And lastly, her face... is what I would say if I wasn't about to interrupt that just to say, now that I'm zoomed in, the greens blended into her hair look gorgeous! Okay, now to the face! I just love her big, toothy smile, something about that expression looks utterly adorable to me π₯°π₯°π₯° The pink lips look so luscious and the definition of her cheeks, nose and chin/jaw all look fantastic. the subtle purples mixed into her cheeks and eyelids, as well as the green tint to the shadows around her chin all make her look so vibrant too. Likewise, I do really like the purple in the tips of her ears. Her blue eyes manage to look very striking too, with a very different hue to her skin and hair, as well as that bright, shining highlight and the dark eyelashes Suffice to say, you've painted something truly stunning and gorgeous here! Words alone can't express how amazing the environment looks and the Nymph herself is just so perfect! π»π»π»π»π» Truly excellent work on this one! ππππππππππππππππππππ And I will say that after this painting, I'd definitely love more like this. These single-character pin-up pieces would be terrific... Especially of the character from Doodle4 π
