Hello again!
March was slower than I hoped for, which is to say that I lost the momentum that I had gained back in February. Sometimes things do get worse once more. But now I do feel like the worst is behind me and things are looking brighter. I hope that it continues this way.
Speaking of which, today I'm closing off this 2 month dev-cycle with a new update. It brings 4 new ero scenes, most notably a CV scene for the fan favorite Kalysea, but also some alternative scenes for "old" enemies that needed some love too, such as the Lazy Starfish, the Dragonfly and the Swamp Golem.
I also did a revision of the sequence of events in the early game. Specifically, now when players defeat the Forest Mother, the path towards the Hills will be blocked by a gate, where a new cutscene will direct players back towards the castle. Farina and Nene will then nudge Maya to go to the back-side of the beach area, ultimately resulting in players defeating the beach boss and thus acquiring the teleportation scepter early on for convenience.
On the topic of level revision, I'm not going to be able to do the proper full redesign of the stages that I wanted, given that I have limited time to finish MKM. So this and future revisions will only be superficial, because I have to readjust the scope of each of the milestones in the version 1.0 roadmap to account for this huge loss of time and momentum that afflicted me from December to March.
Because as you know, I will be done with MKM this year (until December 2025), for better or worse.
Best case scenario, I'll have a completed (if flawed) product, that has a beginning and ending, with decent flow and gameplay that I'm able to release on steam. Worst case scenario, MKM will remain unfinished by the end of the year, and thus be abandoned forever.
Nobody wants the latter of course, so let's keep a positive attitude, and wish for the continuation of good things from now on.
Thank you for you continued support through all of these year, and also for the sweet and kind words of praise and encouragement! I read all comments, and without all of you, this project would have not reach this point in time, so my heartfelt thanks once again!
Best Regards,
Mega
