I am currently wanting to purchase a scanner and some film processing equipment as I am unsatisfied with the results I get from the lab - as usual.
Prior to moving to Europe last year I always did my own processing and scanning - the whole photographic process from shoot to develop, scan and edit. I had control over each of these stages, two of which don't exist in a digital workflow. Also, I had the benefit of choice of film to use, another non-existent creative option with digital. Plus of course, I have the choice of camera including t he amazing Pentax 67 with the f2.4 105mm lens - the largest aperture medium format lens ever made.
Why would I bother? Because this is where my creative heart is and this is where I can create the images that satisfy me creatively and are more 'me' than any others.
The images in this post are a very small selection of European portraits shot on film. See captions for details.
New analog images coming from our recent trip to Germany.
I wonder if any of my Patrons are film photographers?
