Consensus, Day 1-3: Twins
Added 2022-10-20 03:17:13 +0000 UTC“Carrie!! Hurry up in there! You always take forever in the shower!”
“Should’ve woken up earlier if you wanted to get the shower first, sis.”
Terri sighed, her defeated hand slowly sliding down the locked door. Her sister was right, but she hated that her sister was always right! They were literally identical twins! They should’ve been finishing each other’s sentences or pulling pranks on people who couldn’t tell the difference between them. Instead, they were fiercely competing for the exact same position at the exact same firm.
Terri was constantly attempting to extend an olive branch towards her sister, saying that it would be beneficial in a cutthroat world for the two of them to work together, but Carrie didn’t want to hear any of that. She was the independent type, preferring to do activities alone, and if she needed help, she’d usually choose anyone other than her own sister first.
“It helps that I’m the prettier twin,” Carrie would always say with a sly smile whenever she was chosen over her sister. When Terri called her out on this blatant lie, she would deflect it, often responding with “I’m sure people can see that one day, you’ll be obviously inferior to me.”
Terri wasn’t sure if her sister hated her, but she remained optimistic that this was all merely a desire to break free. Unfortunately for Carrie—yet rather fortunately for Terri—their parents wanted them to stick together even after they moved out of the house, offering to pay an exuberant sum for wherever they wanted to live so long as they both lived there.
By the time Terri was out of the shower, her twin sister was nowhere to be found. A reserved sigh trilled her lips as she looked out the window and saw Carrie’s car had vanished from their driveway.
Great, now Terri would have to take the slow, underfunded public bus to work.
As she sat at the bus stop, she applied her makeup for work. Terri was quite a looker, she had to admit. Both her and Carrie had been blessed with beautiful genes. She was tall, but not too tall, with most of her height in legs. Her long, dirty-blonde hair cascaded down her shoulders in curls, parting perfectly at the top so that her mascara-laden lashes could catch the attention of any passing men.
Upon finally arriving at work—albeit slightly late—Terri was approaching her limit. Her sister had been a bitch before, but leaving without her!? What a new low!
Then, a brain wave hit Terri. The promotion. It was today! Carrie was trying to sabotage her own sister’s chance at success! That bitch!
Terri began angrily storming towards her boss’ office, ready to spill the news for all to hear. Terri had been a hard-working individual at the firm and established quite the reputation for herself. If she told her higher-ups that her twin was unethically attempting to win a big promotion, they’d be inclined to agree with her.
But as she turned a particular corner through the cubicles, a particular sight caught her eye—one that brought a smile to her face. While she was just out of earshot of the argument, her twin sister and Howard Grove were in a fierce debate over something. It didn’t matter what, Terri knew that her sister was probably getting verbally dragged through the mud. Howard was verbally brutal to women, and while under normal circumstances, Terri would have been appalled to see her sister be berated, this was the perfect bit of karma for Carrie. She couldn’t think of a worse fate for her twin sister at that present moment.
Terri then looked over at her boss’ office. She could still report her twin sister at any time, further driving the knife in. No. The nicer of the two sisters thought. The universe has balanced everything out now, if I were to further twist the knife, then karma would surely favor my sister!
Choosing to forgive and forget, Terri moved on to her work. She sat at her cubicle and began to mindlessly type away at her keyboard, her mind miles away as it pondered whether or not she’d still get that promotion she so desperately deserved.
“Well, well, well,” came Carrie’s voice suddenly from the cubicle’s exit. “Looks like what I finally predicted came to pass.”
Terri just rolled her eyes. It was typical of her twin to exaggerate and sort of advantage between the two at this point. “What, did you overhear the boss saying he’d give the promotion to the ‘cute, blonde one?’” Terri responded sarcastically, knowing that could apply to either one of them.
“No, I mean that I’m finally superior to you in every way, sis.”
Confused, Terri turned to look at her supposedly identical twin, only to be blindsided by the person standing in her cubicle. It was Carrie, but… more. Like looking in a funhouse mirror that distorted Terri into a prettier version of herself.
This new Carrie’s fuller lips curved into a devious smile upon witnessing the surprise on her once-identical twin’s face. She bent forward to be at eye level with her sister, her longer legs and tighter shirt placing an almost overwhelming amount of cleavage in Terri’s field of view.
“H-how?” was the only question Terri could muster.
“Oh, don’t act like you don’t know how,” Carrie responded with a deviously sultry voice. “I’ve made it clear from day one that I was always the superior sister, you just never believed me.”
“B-because it didn’t make sense!” Terri fired back with panic in her voice, convinced this was some sort of bad dream. “Just because you worked harder doesn’t mean your appearance would suddenly change like this!”
Terri found her eyes naturally drifting back down to her twin’s full breasts like the scientific curiosity they were. Carrie quickly took note of her twin’s gaze. “Envious? Good. I bet they’re only going to get bigger from here on out. I can see it now: soon people are going to wonder why I’m dragging my pathetic little sister around everywhere. Maybe then, I’ll finally get my own life that isn’t just segmented to yours!”
“I-i wouldn’t count on it, Carrie. If this is some sort of second growth spurt, then it’s only a matter of time before it inflicts me too!”
Carrie just scoffed. “Sure, keep telling yourself that, shrimp.” She then left Terri alone without another word.
“Grrah! It’s not fair!” Terri seethed to herself as she tried her hardest to keep her voice down, or at least, out of earshot of her superior sister. She was already regretting not informing her boss about Carrie’s sabotaging. Why did she convince herself that a single verbal berating from Howard Grove of all people was suitable Karma?
Wait… Howard Grove…
Terri chuckled to herself as a devious idea came into her head. That old fool couldn’t tell the two of them apart to save his life, and Carrie had the cubicle closer to him. If karma wouldn’t help her today, then Terri would generate some of her own. Sure, the ‘telling the boss’ route would probably be a much safer option, but this one would be much more fun!
Without another moment to lose, Terri sprung into action. She carefully avoided any interaction with Howard, waiting for him to excuse himself to the restroom before putting her plan into fruition. He had already poured his mid-morning coffee—bitter and as black as his soul—as he left it out on the break room counter, exposed to the elements.
Once she was sure no one was looking, the blonde woman whipped out her brush and began to scrape some of the hairs off of it into his coffee. Terri and her sister were notorious shedders, and with their distinctive yellow manes, even an idiot like Howard would quickly piece together who the culprit was. Well, not exactly who specifically, but he’d be within the ballpark.
Returning to her cubicle, Terri sat confidently back into her chair. Her scheme was about to go off without a hitch, and then by tomorrow she’d hit the exact same growth spurt that her twin had, proving this day to be a mere fluke and nothing more.
If only Terri knew what she had actually just done.
By the end of the minute, all was according to plan. Terri could overhear the soothing words of Howard giving Carrie an earful, laying into her sister about how he had found her disgusting hair within his coffee and how her suddenly looking sluttier didn’t change anything about how angry he was. Of course, Carrie fought back. After all, it was a wrongful accusation. This only increased the intensity of the shout match, leading to the security guard intervening.
Once Howard was finally convinced to return to his work station, Terri could overhear the upset grumblings of her twin sister echo through the halls. It was like music to the blonde’s ears. Not only had Terri gotten her revenge, but after that unprofessional display, the boss surely wouldn’t be considering Carrie for the promotion.
Terri got back to work, now properly energized and focused. Within five minutes, she was finished with all of her work for the day, and it was just barely noon. Things were finally looking back up for her. Now, it was time to rub it in Carrie’s face.
She normally would have never acted this childish and petty, but Carrie had crossed a line today. Her taking the car was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Terri confidently strode over to her twin’s cell, already picturing in her mind what Carrie’s distraught face would look like. But once she looked inside the cell, that very face was quickly realized upon her very own.
“Like I said, Terri… I’m better than you in every way.”
The now even-less-identical twin couldn’t believe what she was seeing. It had been only ten minutes since she had last seen Carrie, now, she looked even more beautiful than before.
To set in stone that Terri wasn’t just seeing things, Carrie stood up tall—and tall she was. She had about half a head of height over her “twin” now, a fact she seemed very ecstatic about. Terri couldn’t find any words to bring to her mouth, so Carrie continued without her.
“Y’know, I’m glad you came over here just now, Terri. At first, I thought I was seeing things too, but now that I have a puny sister to definitively compare to, I find it pretty hard to deny.”
She then gripped Terri’s stupefied cheeks like she was a tiny dog. “Aww, look at you! You’re like the before picture to my after picture in a makeup commercial! Of course, no amount of makeup could account for my height, or my larger breasts, or my far more supple thighs. You’re like the body double they get when it’s time to fake one of those commercials.”
Terri could only sit there petrified as her mind was unable to wrap around the logic of her sister’s stupendous transformation. The stream of insults would have continued, but Mr. Carob—the boss of the two women—stopped by. He had a furious expression on his face, but it appeared to dramatically lighten up once he caught a glimpse of Carrie.
“Carrie, I-I understand you had a conflict with Howard? What exactly happened?” Terri was holding on to hope that he’d get upset with her twin, but as his hungry eyes drank up every part of her body all while seemingly unaware that Terri was in the cubicle with her, that hope lessened with every passing second.
“Oh, I’m terribly sorry, Mr. Carob, but I assure you it wasn’t my fault!” Carrie put on her best puppy-dog eyes for our boss. “You know how that horrid Mr. Grove can be.~” she then finished him off with a sultry wink which struck him at his core. His face turned red like a tomato.
“O-of course, Carrie. You’re probably right, that altercation likely wasn’t your fault at all. I-I will go confront Howard about it accordingly.” He then adjusted his necktie to let off some steam. “I-I appreciate the way you handled that unfortunate confrontation, in fact.”
It was doubtful that he meant that last part. After all, his eyes were firmly zeroed in on Carrie’s breasts by the end.
“Well, well, sis,” came Carrie’s sultry voice once she was sure Mr. Carob was out of earshot. “Seems like we know who will be getting that promotion after all, huh?”
Terri was too stunned to even look her way. She had to think of something by tomorrow and she had to think of it fast.
