8-17-24 Progress Update

As promised, today we're going to share with you our progress numbers towards the end-of-year PAD event. These are taken directly from our Trello board, which is how we assign tasks and track our progress internally.

Writing: 25/114 - Writing tasks are anything to do with the script, from writing dialog to scenes to the random conversations you get when revisiting any character. We also include the repeatable scenes as separate tasks, and each thing also includes the needed editing and implementation into the game. We like to separate all of these out into individual tasks because they involve different team members, and to make sure that nothing is missed.

Character Art: 7/41 - These are the tasks to create the new character bust art you see during dialog, including all the different outfits and expressions. There are also some easy tasks to create the expression charts we've posted before (which help immensely to reference when implementing dialog) and size the girls correcly relative to the other characters.

Scene Art: 0/13 - These would be the fullscreen h-scenes. Obviously they will take the longest to create and implement, and need to wait for most of the character art to be finished before they can start.

Background Art: 0/9 - These are the game backgrounds. We'll leave them for very last, because we can always create quick placeholders if need be. The artist will always prioritize everything else before working on backgrounds.

Code Implementations: 0/7 - These are any other small tasks that the programmer needs to do, like setting up new Villains in the Tavern, implementing new drawable attractions, updating the progress menu, etc. None of these are very difficult and can tend to be knocked out quickly when not working on implementing anything else from the above list.

It definitely seems like a lot left, and while that's not false, the writers have been making slow and steady progress, and each new delivery from our artist can complete up to 10 tasks at once. We look forward to updating you on our progress on this, as well as other news in the coming weeks!
