2021-09-29 22:24:45 +0000 UTCI disagree, there are plenty of kpop groups/artists that have put out a lot of English songs that were bops e.g Monsta x, Chungha, Jay Park (as much as i can't stand him) e.t.c. The problem with BTS is that BigHit and Columbia records are marketing them as a bubble gum boy band in the western market. To be fully honest, their lead single releases after HYYH era have been utter shite and bubble gum pop. Whether the group has input or not, the labels will always gear towards a more bubble gum pop sound to promote them in the west. It's tragic but not surprising. IMO ARMYs (particularly new ones) are the issue cause the fandom eats up anything that BTS releases so why tf would BigHit and Columbia produce anything with quality when they can do the bare minimum basic ass shit and still make big bank. I know ARMYs hate to hear this but your faves sold out in the biggest way to make that green in America.

Even though it’s unfortunate the western ate this song up😭 I think the guys don’t really mess with this kind of pop either but do know it was a smart business move because songs like this always pop off on the radio in the u.s -more plays more cash you feel me🤣.

This kind of thing is “cringy” to some people but it’s feel good and has a positive message in a time where a lot of people are feeling down. The clips of people dancing I think are so cute!!
