Also probably the author wanted to portray the other side of Rafal which is driven by not pure fascination towards astronomy but towards blind faith fueled by his convictions which we see next episode

First we got the difference that the begin of the anime was in a place named Kingdom of P, while now we are in Poland. This could be because the previous arcs are imaginary stories but the last arc is based on true events of history. Regarding adult Rafal, I read a hypothesis that I like, he is a representation of any random scholar but the author put a Rafal design which had a similar story and way of thinking, to make it more connected to the story. The disturbing thing is that young Rafal could have used poison to kill Nowak and escape or just for vengeance but he didn't do it because of his principles wich differs from the adult version or it can be the same as Jolenta who was pure when young but a killer as she growth. About the infinity of the universe, it is not directly related but the discussion reminded me of the Youtube video "history of the entire world, i guess", It would be interessing to have your reaction on it if possible. I learned a lot about history thanks to it. Anyway, thanks a lot for you comments, I always enjoy your takes on the many stories you shared and even if some people dislike the fact that you pause and discuss a lot, I think it gives you originality and those interessed will surely continue to come to you π
