Light not only takes advantage of her grief here, but also in the previous episode you might've noticed that she was still passionate about detective work, but Raye shut her down. Now she walks into an opportunity where she can not only avenge her fiance, but she can also regain a sense of purpose by being a detective again... All her insecurities that we're aware of were taken advantage of. The only thing she could've done here is not be so loose-lipped with information, but even this can be excused in times of grief. She was very unfortunate to have met Light on this particular day. Maybe if she'd waited a week or two she might've been more well-adjusted and able to keep the information to herself that Light used to manipulate her.

2024-08-30 07:38:03 +0000 UTCif he actually wanted to help fight crime, investigating crime would be a lot more useful tha nkilling already imprisoned criminals, the justice system seems ot already have a grip on those

2024-08-30 07:30:22 +0000 UTCYeah, story wise, this is pretty weak. It comes down to fate here I think. Light's life span isn't up, so he can't be caught and killed. So the universe makes the situation easier for him. I think pretty much everyone agrees that Light is evil. The harder question is: Is the world a better place despite Light being, the way he is. Do innocent people in total have a better life because of Kira. I would say yes. Imagine for a moment Light refused the Death Note, gave it back to Ryuk and let his memories be erased. Ryuk would still be looking for entertainment. How high is the chance, someone worse would have that notebook, like a dictator or a crime syndicate. Pretty high I believe.
