Yes, Chainsaw Man by Fujimoto is really something special. Fujimoto took a lot of inspiration from western films and series. Like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Reservoir Dogs, Sharknado or Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Power, for example, is the female version of Eric Cartman from South Park. There's probably no need to mention that he has a preference for dominant women. In general he has a weird and unorthodox personality but he's very public about it. And if what they say is true, his first major series "Fire Punch" should also be produced by Mappa in the near future. Which I personally think is even better than Chainsaw Man. As a side note, here are a few people who started out as assistants (now also well-known mangaka) and worked on Firer Punch under Fujimoto. Tatsuya Endo known for Spy x Family, Yuji Kaku for Hell's Paradise and Yukinobu Tatsu for Dandadan. Spy x Family and Hell's Paradise have already received an anime adaptation. Dandadan's anime will be released this year in October.

2024-02-12 15:53:12 +0000 UTCI think, it seems Himeno was the type to seek out any sense of pleasure she could find, even in unhealthy ways, because her life was just so awful: seeing every partners and friends die from devils, getting blamed for it, working on the edge of death. And despite that, she could never stop caring about others, in her ways she cared about Kobeny, Arai, Denji and obviously Aki. And it seems she must've felt very lonely. She was haunted by the ghosts of her past and was literally taken by them in the end. She deserved a better life, but it is what it is. Also, the Curse Devil's nail sword is based on a real japanese cursing ritual — ushi no toki mairi, that involves hammering nails into a sacred tree or a straw effigy of the victim.
