Closing Time [61 - 67]

[Edited: I had forgotten to add the dramatic lighting gag on a panel of page 61 (Can you believe it! What a dummy! You can actually kind of see the lighter come out of Dalia's sleeve and her grabbing it on the panels before but I forgot lmao... Anyway)]

Or.

After the Ordeal.

Our heroes have faced every challenge this night has put in front of them in what has been their biggest adventure to date. Grocery shopping. And they have come on top of them gaining wisdom and in some cases love. Besides a pretty pair of kickass boots. Now they finally can go home where they'll rest, hang out, maybe get a bit high, and if there's time, see a really dumb movie.

Whatever…

Here it is! The final installment of my 12 pages comic that I started last year and ended up absolutely over doing.

Sorry for the wait between the last batch and this one. Believe it or not this is the batch I struggled the most with. I got a little stuck with page 62 I had to redraw it like 4 times, I knew I wanted a page explaining Diana's real life experiences while watching the circus and it started as a page, and then it turned into 2 and then 3 pages but it didn't worked for me because it almost felt like the ending of a Scooby Doo episode with all the gang explaining the evil landowner’s plan.

Especially because that made it harder to move into the Diana/Sylvie pages naturally. By the way I also had to rewrite a couple of times because I wasn't completely sure about their original dialogue.

A new character trait that I hadn't planned but came out spontaneously here is Dalia’s fondness for magic tricks. Originally it was to distract the band a bit so they don't get mad but now I feel that's a thing she does often.

And it did help to calm down the situation because the first encounter between the bohemians and the WornDown Children was chaotic. Luckily we didn't have to find out who would be the winner between the bear and the lion. Though I have already talked about who I would bet on.

One thing that bothers me about this comic is that it ended up on a non number of pages. But I do have a plan to fix this. I have a cover sketched and also there's a new extra page I'd like to add to it.

There's a couple of changes I want to do to it overall besides a Spanish version. I plan to do a big post with the whole thing for it to be easier to read fully.

After this the plan now is to make shorter comics for a while. I have already plan two, I don't know which one I will make first but it'll be either one titled “Play the Game” or another one titled “Our House”

Yeah, I have to work on keeping character scales on model lmao. The new refs will be helpful with that actually. As soon as I finish them. I put them in pause this week to lock in on finishing this. I'll be making this comic public eventually but before I want to have a “cushion” of comics here on patreon. Making this comic this long kind of screwed the schedule I had planned before but it still was worth it. Also I’m glad to hear the bohemians gave the right impressions, I had been waiting so long to actually do something with them lol

Thank you! And the good thing is that new shenanigans are already on their way

At long last the WDC's first feature length comic is finished! ^_^ It was a long wait but well worth it, and it's a great introduction to so many core story details like the bandmembers' characters and pasts, Tak's unofficial status as a part-time 7th bandmember (who seems to get taller and taller in the comic's last 10 or so pages...culminating at the end of p61 where she looks about as tall as RJ wtf?!?! XD ), the ballad of Rueben and Zara, the Bohemian Circus and the ballad of Diana and Sylvie (...and co?), and even a bit of the ever-important weed that's actually the driving force of the plot which even fittingly brings the two groups together! XD The first big comic is a resounding success, and I definitely look forward to seeing more stories like it in the future...but in the shorter term, it'd be great to see the comic posted in full outside patreon, even though I know individually posting dozens of pages in a gallery is no small feat so I'll be patient about that. ;) P.S.: one last thing to note is the final part efficiently lays out the main Bohemians' personalty types that I realize very neatly match up with their occupations: Dimitri: Hotheaded/Serious - Fitting for a firebreather Dominique: Coolheaded/Serious - Fitting for an acrobat Dalia: Skittish/Cheerful - Fitting for a clown/comedian Sylvie: Serene/Cheerful - Fitting for a dancer ;)

*Malcolm In The Middle door slam to end scene* Well, you really took the bar and rose it high with this comic, like said before it was like watching a TV show episode lol. I know maybe the original plan wasn't to make it that long but that's one thing I love about you (your style of work that is): you are unintentionally detailed ^^ Hope to see more of the gang's shenanigans in the future even if they are not long comics like this one. And also more world-building in the Bohemian's who also seem cool. All and all, magnum opus and felicitaciones al chef 😁
