“Cool Gay Aunt”
As in Danny, meet your cool Gay Aunt Diana.
But it was said a bit quietly while Diana tried with her life to not drop the baby.
The final, at least for now, piece of this series. Featuring of course Diana and her two older brothers Samuel and Adrian, her sister in law Clara, her nephew who she finally got to meet cause when he was born a couple of months ago she was on the road with the band, and Diana's mother who is making dinner in the background.
This piece is a sort of remake of one I started last year but never got to finish. The original piece was a bit more open and I never finished it cause I couldn't make the perspective work as I wanted, so I postponed it, and then postponed it again and then I wasn't able to find the original file and even today as I write this I'm not sure if the file still exists. But, before posting this I’m gonna make a last effort to find it, and if I'm successful you'll find it as it is now on the attached files.
Edit: Good news everyone, I found it! And it actually works better than I remembered so I may finish it anyway… Eventually…
I've talked about them a bit but I'm gonna expand a bit on the Machado Family dynamic. One of the few I've actually decided on a last name for them. Lol
One of the things I tried to imply when I posted about Diana's brothers is that she wasn't planned. She was a baby when her brothers were both 11ish and 15ish respectively, so she didn't really get to grow up with them, when she was 8 they were both adults. She was always their baby sister.
As you can notice her older brother got married a year ago. The Worndown Children played at his wedding. But Diana is just now getting to meet her nephew Daniel.
And while they were adults like her parents, they were also closer to her age and experience than them, so when she had a problem she did go to them a bit more. Also her grand dad but that's a story for another day.
Not to say that she doesn't trust and love her parents. Far from it, she loves them a lot, but she could trust them more. For example, she could come out as gay to them.
When she came out of the closet she first told her grandpa. (I don't wanna spoil that one. Coming soon, stay tuned) And then to her brothers who kind of already knew by then.
See, it's not that she fears her parents, she's just a bit anxious. I personally think she's exaggerating but what can one do?
She really wanted to tell them. But she kept postponing it. She's thinking about doing it tonight. But she probably won't. She doesn't want to risk ruining her parents' first Christmas as a grandparents, I don't think that'd happen but that's Diana.
She was kind of hoping they'd eventually figure it out on their own, her dad kind of did but until she says it, how can he be sure?
It's a shame I couldn't fit Diana's dad in the picture without it feeling overcrowded and kind of forced. I barely got to fit a bit of Diana's mom.
I do have a lot of fun thinking about Diana's family lol.
And as a final thought about the piece.
Diana is feeling a bit less pressured to come out to her parents tonight. As you see, her mother does asks her often. When is she getting married?, the husband and kids deal and all of that.
But Diana thinks that with the new baby at home she'll be spared of that during dinner. Sadly for her A) she's wrong, her mom is now even more interested and B) her mother will keep asking her those things even after Diana comes out to her.
So good luck Diana and Merry Christmas!
