Remember these scraps from January?

That scrappy side project has been functioning as my new breeding grounds (hee) for experimentation. And for making more personal quickie fap material of course.

The biggest experiment here (besides the surprisingly excellent lighting) was actually with the textures. I was trying out a new upscaling technique that I've noticed many straight artists use. It results in incredibly smoothed out and cleaned up textures. Let me know what you think.

Personally, I like seeing slight imperfections or oddities on the textures. I think it's a bit more realistic that way (as realistic as you can get at least for such a cartoony-looking game). Perfectly smoothed out models just have too much of an off-putting artificiality to it, imo. It's a little hard to describe but I definitely don't wanna go *too* far in that direction.

With that being said, there's also no denying that upscaling the textures in this manner does result in a very pleasing look. So in the future (after #82), I think I will be working with a moderate approach. My upscaling probably won't be quite as sharp and clean as you can see here on these Orcs, but it'll definitely be cleaner than what you've been used to seeing from me.
