2025-08-09 18:46:37 +0000 UTC"What were the writers smoking?!" Misogyny! It's been confirmed since then Joss Whedon deliberately gave Cordelia some garbage storylines to punish Charisma Carpenter. It's infuriating. I would look it up but not until you finish the entire series. I HATE what they do to Cordelia this season. It's horrific. BUT there are actually some amazing moments coming up this season, and in Season 5. All is not lost. I'm rewatching it, after all, which means there's a lot worth rewatching.

For years and years we all had our theories, which the popular theory was proven accurate a few years ago. We can discuss it when it's all over. But yeah, the writers did us all so dirty with this storyline and Cordy, too. Cordy's ark up until season 4 has been so incredible, her growth made her one of my all time favourite characters, but now they're (again, only referencing right up until the end of this episode, no spoilers) completely decimating her character. It's all so unbelievable. I skip so many episodes when I rewatch season 4, it is by far the worst season. It has some incredible episodes that rank as some of my all time favourites (they're coming up still!) but overall, I hate it. As everyone else said season 5 gets better. I hope you remember some of the things you said in this reaction much later, because it'll be interesting to see you reflect on them when you have more information. Season 2 is my favourite, followed by 1 and then 5, but 5 is really strong and many people's favourite. Hang in there. It will get better.
