While this episode isn’t my favorite, and I personally think it’s one of the weakest of season 7, it definitely has some funny moments. “His physical form has a penis!!!” always cracks me up. I feel like that’s a great quote to put on Buffy shirt or something. 😂 And then there’s the infamous “No man is worth your life, not ever” quote, which is a pretty powerful message for young, impressionable women to hear. But knowing the things that have been alleged about Joss Whedon has made this episode slightly less funny and more creepy to me, specifically the theme of being in a position of power and taking of someone who is younger than you (especially intimately). I know Buffy wasn’t really in the wrong morally (being under a spell and all), it still just feels kinda icky.

2025-04-21 23:38:26 +0000 UTCI appreciate the humor of this episode, but a lot of people dislike it, generally because they say it aged poorly in the sense that it made light of issues of age difference and consent.
