This was such a great reaction - it took me right back to so many of the things I thought and felt when I first watched this episode over 20 years ago. This is actually my least favorite finale of the Buffyverse because of the last 5 minutes or so because I hated that direction for Cordy even more than my disappointment at not getting to see Cordy and Angel become a couple. Up to this ending, Cordy had my favorite character arc in the whole Buffyverse. But I am looking forward to your impression on what comes next for the show. And I LOVED your parting line so much - it was the BEST!

Lorne and Groo? Heh absolutely, I see it! (BTW, the show audio is kind of low compared to your commentary, which added to the fact that you can't use CC here makes it a bit difficult to understand what is being said)

This is all behind camera bullshits. Charisma wanted to have a family and get pregnant thie lead to Wedon take on her character ruin his arc first with that messed up relationship with Connor and later this ascending bs

No, I didn't like this finale. It's actually my least favorite season finale in the series. I hate Cordy's "ascending," it's cheesy and I simply do not buy that Cordelia would choose to abandon the fight on earth. BS BS BS BS BS.
Actually, the rest of it wasn’t bad—Connor’s plan is diabolical but he’s a messed up kid, so I understand it. I love the way your eyes roll every time we see Justine, she sucks SO MUCH. Angel on Top, an excellent Angel podcast, has a Justine jingle to the tune of Jolene, and it’s hilarious.
I also adore Liliah and Wesley together. Hate-f*cking is one of my most favorite tropes (see: Buffy and Spike) and it always makes for excellent TV.

I was not happy when I watched this finale originally, particularly about cordy. I had a reaction very similar to you, "what?" Honestly in a lot of rewatches I skip the majority of season 3 if not all of it.
While I wouldn't ever want charisma to leave the show, your ending is better, to have Connor kill her or at least try to. Things just don't feel right with this finale. Like they're rushed, packed in too much, they don't let moments fall correctly, or they go completely missed by the audience. If you have to work so hard to explain what is happening maybe you need to simplify, re: moments like Cordy having a vision without noticing, and thus the audience tends to miss it too.
Angel being trapped in a box at the bottom of the sea was terrible, but interesting. So interesting another vampire show ripped it off completely for one of their season finales. Lol.
I'm sad Lorne is gone. Gun and Fred are all alone. Who knows what will happen with Justine and Connor/Steven. Cordy up high, Angel down low. It's a fricken mess.
Season 3 is so not my favourite. Still, I was excited to see your reactions and excited to see your reactions to all future episodes. It's always a good time. Thanks again for making these episodes available here. I greatly appreciate it.

This one ends with a real cliff-hanger. Or maybe a cliff tumbler.

Even I didn't notice. She was wearing the same thing, but not that she was saying the same things, too.

I like how Groo got a bit frustrated in the beginning at ANOTHER mention of Angel. He's might not be the smartest, but he's got integrity and he's not putting up with this shit anymore.
Side note: God it's a pain in the arse to spell check his name. It's like he never existed on the show.
And, never mind Cordy potentially saving Angel from Connor, I'm not sure if "I love you. Bye" is less hard of an exit for Angel than simply wondering where she is. Because maybe she was just late and he meant to just double back to look for her or her car.

Did you notice that when Cordy was "talking to herself", she was actually having a vision without noticing it? Her vision of herself happened just a little later on the highway.
I am not surprised she accepted to go on the higher plane because she always put the greater good first before her own needs (even when that can get her hurt or even killed). I am also not surprised the PTB did this to Cordy. I do think they have good intentions in the long run but one has to admit they are complete dicks with the people that work for them.
As for the intentions of the writers, you will have to see for yourself next season^^

Season 4 is like marshmallow flavored cereal for kids, if you like marshmallows. Keep an even amount of cereal and mallow in each spoonful and you'll be fine.

holtz had the ultimate long con and it worked. he might be one of the most diabolical villains in the buffyverse history. his plan was hundreds of years in the making, he carried it out and was successful at getting his vengeance, and his actions had long term, lasting effects. kinda gotta give the man kudos.

the powers that be are good. there's a dimensional communication incompatibility but i hate that you that you hate them because they are the only help we get versus the senior partners (wolf, ram, and hart) who have numerous conduits and foot soldiers on earth.
