But, his wife played Kate Veatch in this movie…AND on Friends she played Ross’ girlfriend at the beach house, the one who Rachel “balded.”

This is what Stiller is eluding to in the end-scene when he says there is no originality in American cinema and that movies must have happy endings to be enjoyable. The studio MADE the actors come back and film a new ending, the one we saw.
