I always thought you were selling Xander short. He doesn't have powers, like Buffy or Willow. He isn't a supernatural being, like Angel or Oz. He isn't trained, like Giles. But, he shows up and helps every time. In many ways, his heart is the purest. He knows his friends are all more powerful and he has normal jealousy and teen issues about that stuff. But, he just keeps showing up. Since the first episode of the first season, he has shown up, no matter how terrified he might be. That is a true friend. And that kind of friend is more precious than anything else in the world (even when he is being a normal teenage boy and acting like a jerk). Now, you are really starting to see him.

Snider was probably killed off because there was really no need for his character anymore. None of the scoobys will be in high school anymore so there wouldn't really be any situations that they would be likely to see him in.

Can you imagine all these Vampires sitting around giving each other makeovers every day?? GREAT catch on Eddie/Oberyn (Pedro Pascal)! I've watched Buffy umpteen times, Game of Thrones 3X, and I *still* didn't make the connection. Wow, that's pretty bad on my part, LOL.
