Are men 7 times more likely to leave their sick wives?
Added 2025-05-19 16:00:02 +0000 UTCI saw this study years ago and it really stuck with me, but apparently it was retracted due to a processing error. Now, there's a few others that support its original claims, with these caveats.

Fully agree!! Though do remember reading despite the statistics showing that more women file for divorce, this was because the men were less likely to do the paperwork so in many instances women were forced to file

And some other factors, like economic situation after that divorce, what both parties think about the decision afterwards, etc. Yes, more research needed. There is always an explanation for such findings that is simple, clear, plausible and wrong.

2025-05-19 16:48:18 +0000 UTClol. You nutty woman, you. I do have a few points for this though. 1. In the USA, just because you divorce when sick, doesn't mean you left the person. Sadly, it's done to prevent the other from being stuck with medical bills. 2. This is, yet again, one of those things that a couple must talk about prior to marriage. It is possible that some of these couples broke up by choice. Either to save the other from being alone after death, or having to watch said death occur. It could even be the sick person demanded it to hide from them and not have someone watch them die. So, yes, more specific study is needed on the matter. And death to Capitalism.
