2025-12-05 03:13:39 +0000 UTCWithout having researched this, women have been catching up in heart attacks and other traditional "male" death causes. My guess would be that female doctors are more aware of that than male doctors (also because of self-interest), and hence female doctors will in some cases be faster where time is critical. And another factor might be that female doctors have, on average, a more current education as they are, on average, younger. Medicine used to be predominantly studied by men, these days it is predominantly women. At least in parts of Europe. Yes, I am aware that "older" medicine in addition suffers from some blindness as to the medical differences between men and women and had a tendency to study men and then merely transfer the results to women. We are finding out that tailoring medicine better to the patient has significant benefits across the board though.
