[Marvel : Spoiling Spider-man] Chapter 51 - 55

Chapter 51 Chaotic Exposition

When the audience saw Tony and Rhodes flying over, they all stood up and started applauding. They all thought it was an extra show, but Tony was in no mood to pay attention to the audience. He walked straight towards Justin.

"where is he?"

Tony's words left Justin Hammer puzzled, "What?" He frowned. He didn't know that Ivan Vanko had already dealt with the people he left behind.

"Where is Ivan Vanko?"

"Who?" Justin certainly couldn't tell Tony, so he could only play dumb.

"Tell me!" Tony was very impatient. Ivan Vanko might attack at any time.

"What are you doing?"

While the two were talking, Ivan Vanko had already begun to remotely control the Iron Soldier.

Tony had his back to the Iron Soldier, so he didn't see what happened, but Justin found that the Iron Soldier moved on his own, and his face changed instantly.

Tony noticed the change in Justin's expression. He turned around immediately and saw that the Iron Soldier had raised his arm and pointed it at him and Rhodes.

"Let's fight outside!" Tony immediately flew up and rushed out of the venue. It was Rhodes' first time to fly the Mark 2, and his operation was a bit slow. When he flew to mid-air, the Iron Soldier's bullets had already swept over.

Fortunately, the armor of Mark II was very strong and was not penetrated by the bullets. Rhodes staggered at first, but finally stabilized his body and flew out of the venue. The broken glass caused great harm to the audience below.

The Air Force-type Iron Soldier started the engine and began to chase after them, firing wildly at the two men. The other three types of Iron Soldier below also took action, walking towards various locations in the venue.

Justin ran backstage and asked, "What happened?"

“The software has been altered!”

"What does it mean to be altered?"

"He controls the Iron Soldier!"

"This is impossible! Call the guards!"

After learning that all the phone lines had been cut off, Justin said angrily: "Then call their cell phones!"

"The phones don't work either! We're blocked out !"

At this time, Pepper and Natasha also came to the backstage and questioned Justin, "How did you do it?!!!"

"Go away! I can handle it!" Justin Hammer didn't want to pay attention to Pepper now.

"Really?!" Pepper was very angry. This happening in their expo was a huge scandal for Stark Industries.

Justin put all the blame on Tony.

"If Iron Man hadn't come, none of this would have happened! Please go away! Thank you!"

Justin wanted to have them both taken away, but Natasha wouldn't sit there and wait.

She went straight forward and held Justin down, "Tell me where is Ivan Vanko?"

"He's in my company." Justin had no choice but to tell Natasha the whereabouts of Ivan Vanko. After getting the information, Natasha let him go and left.

Pepper called the police, "Please connect me to NYPD!"

After hearing what Pepper said, Justin immediately wanted to stop her, but Pepper ignored him and asked him to get out of the way..

Justin didn't have the courage to attack Pepper, so he could only give up his position in disappointment.

At this time, Tony and Rhodes were flying around the venue, using buildings to avoid dense bullets, and at the same time, the navy-style steel soldiers also came to the outside of the venue.

They fired the missiles on their shoulders at the crowd that was fleeing the scene. Ivan Vanko watched this scene with a smile on his face. He didn't care about human lives. He just wanted to ruin Tony Stark's reputation.

Happy, who had prepared the car outside the door, didn't know what was going on. When he saw Natasha coming out, he anxiously asked her what happened?

Natasha didn't have time to explain so much to him, so she just asked him to get in the car and take her to Hammer Industries.

Although Natasha's identity was special, her unreasonable request made Happy a little dissatisfied and asked, "Where is Miss Pepper? Where is she?"

"She's safe, don't worry!"

"Okay! Get in the car!" After receiving a positive response, Happy immediately got into the driver's seat.

Just as the two were leaving, the Army-style steel soldiers also came outside. They spread out the brackets on their feet, stabilized their bodies, and began to use the anti-material rifles on their shoulders to aim at Tony and Rhodes.

Tony avoided the attack easily, but Rhodes reacted a little slowly and was almost hit. Fortunately, he managed to avoid it safely in the end.

The steel soldier following behind Rhodes was unlucky and was shot.

Seeing the iron soldiers who accidentally hurt their iwb, Ivan Vanko immediately changed the order and ordered these iron soldiers to attack the buildings and crowds in the venue.

As a result, the audience who had not yet run out of the venue were in bad luck, as one of the Army Iron Soldiers aimed at little Peter Parker who was wearing an Iron Man mask.

Little Peter Parker aimed his toy palm cannon at the Iron Soldier, and the Iron Soldier also aimed his rifle at him.

Tony saw this and immediately landed beside him. He raised his arm and aimed with him, then shot the Iron Soldier, destroying half of his body.

"Well done, kid!" Tony praised and flew away immediately.

At this time, Rhodes was already in a panic due to being chased by the Air Force soldiers. Fortunately, Tony arrived in time and solved the problem of an Air Force Iron Soldier. The two decided to fight away from the expo.

In the car, Natasha said to Happy, "When we get there, I want you to stay outside! I'm going in to eliminate the target!"

Then she started to change clothes in the back seat. Her curvy figure made Happy unable to help but stare at the rearview mirror, and he almost got into a car accident.

After realizing what was happening, Happy parked the car right in the right place, but he couldn't help but glance at the rearview mirror.

"Look ahead!" Natasha said unhappily.

"Got it!" Happy was a little embarrassed after being caught peeking.

Tony led the way, with Rhodes following closely behind him. The two fled at a rapid speed, using the bridge piers under the viaduct to avoid fire.

Seeing that the Iron Soldiers were too dense and might easily hurt their own, Ivan Vanko separated several Iron Soldiers and headed towards the expo.

The rest of the steel soldiers began firing crazily, and their attacks destroyed many cars parked under the bridge. Seeing that this was not going to work, the two men immediately moved away from the overpass.

At this time, Happy finally drove Natasha to Hammer Industries. Natasha wanted Happy to stay in the car, but how could Happy let Natasha go in alone?

Chapter 52 Laser Ray

The entry of Natasha and Happy immediately set off the alarm of Ivan Vanko's system. The security guard, not knowing what was going on, wanted to stop them, but Happy stepped forward and punched them with a big swing.

The security guard was caught off guard by Happy, and then the two started fighting at the door. Natasha ignored them and pushed open the inner door. The security guard inside came over after hearing the noise, but was knocked down by Natasha who slid to his knees and then used a widow's sting to shock him.

Happy was fighting with the first security guard, and as soon as the other security guard walked out the door, Natasha kicked him unconscious.

Then she rushed to the fourth security guard and kick the man crotch, causing him to cover his crotch in pain. Then she used a kick to take care of the last security guard who arrived.

Ivan Vanko saw everything through surveillance.

At the same time, the chaos at the expo continued because the previous Air Force Iron Soldier returned, and Tony and Rhodes had to follow back.

One of the Iron Soldiers crashed directly into the wall, and immediately got up after falling to the ground. It was obviously not affected at all. It fired wildly at the two people, and then followed them after they flew far away.

Ivan Vanko controlled the Marines who had not been deployed and ordered them to take off to chase Tony and Rhodes.

Pepper is still trying to break Ivan Vanko's control and regain control. They find that each group of Iron Soldiers communicate in their own language.

She immediately decided to ask the technicians to randomly select a group to crack together.

Justin, who was doing nothing, said, "Try Russian. Why don't you try Russian?"

Over at Hammer Industries, Happy was still fighting. Natasha was hiding in the corner. When she saw two security guards rushing over, she threw two smoke bombs. The strong stimulation made the two unable to open their eyes.

Natasha knocked the two men to the ground, then pulled out a rope from the widow's sting and knocked the three men unconscious with a series of smooth moves.

Looking back, she found that a security guard who had just been knocked down had climbed up again. She immediately rushed over, clamped his neck and knocked him over. Then she kicked another security guard unconscious and snatched the spray from his hand.

She walked in the corridor with great vigor. A security guard just came out of the room, and Natasha had already sprayed the spray on his face. Immediately, the security guard fell to the ground in pain, covering his face.

Happy finally knocked down the first security guard. With sweat all over his forehead, he looked towards the corridor with confidence, only to find that all the security guard had already fallen to the ground, and the smile on his face disappeared.

Ivan Vanko realized that the security guards alone could not stop Natasha's progress, so he immediately left the room to put on his armor.

On the other side, Tony and Rhodes found that they could not escape the pursuit of the Iron Soldiers, so they could only risk rushing towards the huge earth model at the expo.

Tony analyzed a safe route, and with the help of Jarvis, Rhodes successfully turned around and avoided the collision.

But those Iron Soldiers were not so lucky. They all crashed into the earth model, causing large sparks.

When Natasha kicked the door open, Ivan Vanko had already left, and Natasha tried to release his control over the Iron Soldier.

She successfully contacted Tony and asked about the situation over there. Tony told her that he had dealt with most of the soldiers, but there were still many Iron Soldiers that had not been dealt with, and he had to find a place where he would not cause any civilian injuries!

At this time, Natasha saw from the map that a large number of Iron Soldiers were heading towards their location. Tony immediately decided to find a place to gather them. He had a trick that could solve them all in one go.

Rhodes suggested that there was a park nearby where there would definitely be no one at night, so they could go there. Tony immediately agreed, and the two of them headed there immediately.

As they landed in the park, the iron soldiers also landed one after another. The two men looked at these iron lumps with serious expressions, and the battle was about to break out.

After Tony dealt with several Iron Soldiers, he found that Rhodes was not in a good situation. His Mark II did not have much firepower and could not pose much threat to the Iron Soldiers.

The Iron Soldiers all surrounded him, and Tony shouted, "Rhodes! Get down!!!"

Then his arms began to emit red light, and a charging progress bar appeared on Tony's panel. Rhodes' military nature made him lie down immediately, and then two red lasers cut all the iron soldiers into several halves.

"You should use this trick first next time." Rhodes complained.

"Sorry, Boss! This trick can only be used once."

Tony flicked out the spent energy piece from his wrist.

Natasha failed to release the control in the company and could only watch them fight. When she saw Tony take care of all the Iron Soldiers with one laser.

She exclaimed, "It seems that your new energy board is great! The energy output is more powerful, and the vital signs are normal!"

"Yes! The sky screen saved my life. I won't die for the time being. I guess I have to wait until I sacrifice myself." Tony answered Natasha in a joking tone.

"What do you mean? You were about to die?" Pepper, who was still at the expo, heard the conversation between Tony and Natasha and asked in shock.

"Pepper? Is that you? No, I'm not dead, not for now!" Tony was also surprised when he heard Pepper's voice. He asked subconsciously, and then he remembered to answer her question.

"What happened?" Pepper was shocked that Tony was about to die.

He said that the screen saved him, which reminded Pepper of The Screen's answer to Tony's question before. No wonder Tony just made up an excuse to get away with it no matter how she asked afterwards.

"I was going to tell you, but then The Screen help me..."

"You want to tell me? Are you going to die?!" Pepper interrupted Tony directly, unable to believe that Tony didn't tell her such an important thing.

"It didn't get to that point, Pepper. I was just poisoned, but I was far from death." Tony was a little helpless, but didn't know how to explain.

"Poisoned? What do you mean? What poisoned you? Why didn't you tell me?"

"I'm suffering from palladium poisoning. I've been trying to find a cure, so I drink that awful chlorophyll juice!"

"Later, The Screen help me, and I solved the problem, so I thought about not making you worry..."

"Don't let me worry? I'm so angry that you didn't tell me these things!!!" When Pepper heard this suddenly, her anger level skyrocketed.

"I formally apologize to you, sorry! Honey!" Tony heard Pepper's angry voice and immediately began to apologize from the bottom of his heart.

At the same time, the police finally arrived. They came to the backstage. Pepper had no time to deal with Tony. Justin Hammer was handcuffed and taken away under Pepper's accusation.

Justin was still unconvinced and thought Pepper wanted to eliminate his competitor. Before being taken away, he threatened to get her into big trouble and said that they would meet again soon.

Chapter 53 The Death of Ivan Vanko

Pepper followed several police officers out of the expo, saying as they walked, "When they arrive, ask them to guard the southeast and west exits."

A police officer nodded and said, "We closed the No. 7 subway line..."

Pepper immediately asked them to arrange a bus to take people to the subway that was not closed. The other party agreed without hesitation and asked Pepper if she wanted to go with them.

Pepper said, "I'm going to wait until everyone is evacuated before I leave."

"Ok!" The police officer nodded and began to arrange the work.

On the other side, Natasha discovered an Iron Soldier approaching Tony and the others, and immediately notified Tony and told him.

"This one looks different, the energy index is particularly high!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Ivan Vanko flew above Tony and the others wearing an iron armor.

After falling down, Ivan Vanko opened his mask and looked at the two people in front of him.

“It’s great to be back!”

"The situation is not good!" Rhodes looked at Ivan Vanko's armor with a serious face. The previous ones were nothing compared to this one.

As Ivan Vanko opened his hands, two whips carrying high voltage electricity were swung out, shining in the dark night.

Because Rhodes did not get his upgrade from Hammer, there was naturally no famous scene with the "ex-wife", but in fact the reason why the "ex-wife" did not play a role was purely because the distance was too close.

The "Ex-wife" needs a high-speed boost and needs a certain distance to work. If the distance is too close and it explodes, Tony and Rhodes will die together. It can only be said that Rhodes did not understand how to use this thing.

Tony aimed at Ivan Vanko's uncovered head and instantly fired twelve micro missiles from his shoulders, trying to kill Ivan Vanko by surprise.

Unexpectedly, Ivan Vanko reacted very quickly and closed his mask before the missile hit him. The micro missile could only cause some sparks on his armor.

Ivan Vanko would not sit still and wait for death. He directly hit the two men with two whips. Tony and Rhodes avoided the attack from two directions respectively.

Then Tony, relying on the armor's ability to protect against electric shocks and absorb electrical energy, grabbed the whip and tried to take it back.

Unexpectedly, Ivan Vanko's steel armor was too heavy, suppressing his Mark VI in weight and strength, and directly threw him out and smashed him on the rock.

Rhodes wanted to launch a sneak attack, but Ivan Vanko wrapped the whip around his waist, pulled him over, and punched him hard, knocking Rhodes to the ground.

Seeing that Rhodes was in a bad situation, Tony immediately rushed forward to rescue him. Ivan Vanko had to give up the idea of finishing off the opponent and punched Tony, sending him flying.

Rhodes took the opportunity to fire his palm cannon at him twice, then accelerated and distanced himself before he turned around.

Tony steadied himself in the air, turned around, and used the acceleration of gravity to knock Ivan Vanko, who was facing away from him, off balance.

Rhodes, who had distanced himself from Tony, fired palm cannons without hesitation. Although several consecutive rapid palm cannons failed to break Tony's defense, they made Ivan Vanko unable to take care of Tony and he could only raise his arms to resist.

Tony also took the opportunity to distance himself, and the two of them began to fire palm cannons at Ivan Vanko in the middle from the left and right. Ivan Vanko swung out his whip and wrapped it around Tony's waist.

When Tony saw the energy of the armor rising continuously, an idea suddenly came to his mind. He grabbed the whip with his hand to prevent Ivan Vanko from whipping him back, and then asked Rhodes to pull away and charge the palm cannon.

At the same time, he began to accumulate strength. Seeing that the situation was not good, Ivan Vanko immediately grabbed Tony's feet with another whip and pulled him to the ground, but he also exposed his back.

Rhodes fired a charged palm cannon at his armor, successfully injuring Ivan Vanko. Tony also took this opportunity to lie on the ground and fired the palm cannon with full energy.

Ivan Vanko's armor was continuously attacked by two charged palm cannons and finally couldn't hold on, causing a lot of malfunctions. Ivan Vanko himself was also hit by Tony's palm cannon and was dying.

The two men walked up to Ivan Vanko, who was lying on the ground. Before they could say anything, Ivan Vanko said, "You lose!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the reactor on his body began to flash red, and at the same time all the steel armor began to flash.

Rhodes instantly realized that the Iron Soldiers would self-destruct and they had to get away quickly. Tony immediately thought of Pepper's safety.

The two took off at the same time and rushed towards the expo at full speed. At this time, Pepper, who was still at the entrance of the expo, looked at the iron soldier who began to flash not far in front of him.

Before she could figure out what was happening, Tony rushed to her, picked her up and left as she screamed, and then the Iron Soldier exploded.

Tony held her and flew to the roof of a building. The rapid acceleration made Pepper have difficulty breathing. After landing, she pushed Tony away.

She couldn't accept this thrill for a moment and suddenly wanted to resign.

Tony walked forward, "That's surprising!" He felt that Pepper was just looking for an excuse to be angry with him because he concealed the fact that he was going to die.

Pepper explained that she was not making excuses, but Tony held her hand, "You deserve better treatment. You have always taken good care of me. If I am destined to sacrifice, I hope I can go without regrets. I can't lose you, Pepper!"

Pepper’s eyes turned red as tears welled up, her emotions finally overcoming her composure. She tried to hold back, but a soft sob escaped. Tony, standing close, couldn’t bear to see her like this. Without thinking, he leaned in and kissed her gently. At first, Pepper was taken by surprise, but she soon melted into the moment, her arms wrapping around him.

The intimate moment was abruptly interrupted by Rhodes clearing his throat. "You two are kissing like a couple of seals fighting over grapes," he quipped, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

Pepper pulled back immediately, her cheeks flushing red. She stammered, trying to explain, "I… we weren’t—"

Rhodes waved her off with a grin. "You don’t have to explain. I heard it all."

Tony turned to Rhodes with an exaggerated glare. "You’d better get out of here right now," he said, pointing at him.

Rhodes smirked. "I got here first. Go find your own rooftop."

Tony couldn’t help but laugh at the comeback. "I thought you’d run out of jokes by now."

Rhodes tilted his head with a mock-serious expression. "That was the last one."

The banter lightened the tension, and Pepper managed a small laugh, wiping away her tears. After the exchange, Tony turned to her, his voice soft. "Thanks, Pep. You really hit her hard back there." He was, of course, referring to the verbal blows she had delivered during their efforts to de-escalate the chaos.

Pepper nodded, her usual confidence returning. "Someone had to."

Rhodes, however, wasn’t done. "Speaking of hitting hard, my car got blown up back there," he said, crossing his arms. "I want to borrow one of your suits."

Tony’s response was immediate and firm. "No! Absolutely not."

Rhodes stepped forward, unbothered by the refusal. "I wasn’t asking, Tony. You said you needed teammates, right?" Before Tony could argue, Rhodes closed the mask of the Mark II and took off into the sky.

Tony let out an exaggerated sigh, shaking his head as he watched his friend disappear. "That guy," he muttered, though there was no hiding the small smile playing on his lips.

With the chaos at the expo finally under control, Tony and Rhodes managed to turn the tide, preventing Ivan Vanko from causing further destruction. The cost of the damage was high, but their efforts had saved countless lives and prevented what could have been a catastrophic loss.

In the aftermath, the recognition for their heroism came swiftly. Washington, D.C., decided to honor both Tony Stark and James Rhodes for their bravery and quick action. Ever the showman, Tony didn’t hesitate to use his SHIELD connections to arrange a little poetic justice. He ensured that the senator who had always been critical of him would be the one presenting the award.

Tony could already imagine the scene: the senator’s forced smile and barely concealed disdain as he handed over the accolades. The thought alone was enough to make him chuckle.

But that was a story for another time. For now, the immediate crisis had passed, and the world could breathe a little easier—at least until the next inevitable challenge.

Chapter 54 Thor 1

As Tony Stark concluded his battle with Ivan Vanko, across the vast deserts of New Mexico, another story was unfolding. Agent Coulson had arrived to investigate an unusual phenomenon: a hammer of unknown origin embedded in the ground, immovable by anyone.

The events leading to this moment began the previous night. Dr. Erik Selvig, Jane Foster, and Darcy Lewis had been monitoring peculiar readings in the night sky. The atmospheric disturbances suggested something extraordinary. Excited by the possibilities, they drove into the desert to investigate. Their curiosity, however, led to an unexpected collision—literally. They accidentally hit Thor, who had just fallen to Earth, disoriented and stripped of his powers.

Thor, confused and visibly out of place, attempted to rise but was quickly subdued by the group, who mistook him for a threat. Darcy, perhaps overeager, tased him. They bundled him into their car, intending to take him to the hospital. None of them noticed that his legendary hammer, Mjolnir, had also landed nearby, smashing into the desert sands with a force that sent debris flying.

Thor’s arrival was no ordinary event. Mjolnir's impact created a magnetic anomaly that drew curious locals. Among them was an old man who attempted to lift the hammer but failed. He soon realized he wasn’t alone in his futile efforts—everyone who tried to move the hammer met the same result. It wasn’t long before the site became a gathering spot, with people bringing tools, trucks, and even chains to try their luck.

At the hospital, Thor caused chaos. Upon regaining consciousness, he fought with the medical staff, bewildered by the sedatives and restraints. His superhuman strength, though diminished, still overwhelmed the doctors. After a heated struggle, he was sedated again, leaving Jane and her team baffled by his behavior. Erik studied storm footage they had captured earlier, noticing a figure amidst the turbulence. Jane became convinced it was Thor, believing him to be connected to the anomalies.

The group returned to the hospital, only to find Thor had escaped. Their search ended abruptly when Jane accidentally hit him again with her car while reversing. With no other option, they took him back to Jane’s home, where Thor’s imposing physique and unshakable confidence became a topic of fascination—especially for Darcy, whose admiration bordered on comic exaggeration.

While adjusting to his earthly surroundings, Thor learned he was on Midgard, or Earth, and immediately asked, "Where is Peter Parker?"

Jane, taken aback, explained there was no Peter Parker here. Thor sighed, visibly disappointed. He had hoped to meet the kind-hearted hero he had heard about in stories broadcast across realms. His disillusionment didn’t last long, as Jane’s questions about his origins piqued his interest. Thor, however, remained cryptic, offering only vague mentions of Asgard, Mjolnir, and his desire to retrieve what was rightfully his.

Meanwhile, in Asgard, Loki’s world was unraveling. He had discovered a truth that shattered his identity—he was not the biological son of Odin but a frost giant, taken in as a child after Odin's victory over Laufey, the King of the Frost Giants. Odin admitted this with heavy sorrow, explaining his intentions to use Loki as a bridge for peace between the two realms. However, Loki’s mind twisted the revelation. He believed Odin had always seen him as a pawn, a tool to achieve political stability.

Furious and heartbroken, Loki confronted Odin, accusing him of favoritism toward Thor. "You never intended for me to rule," Loki spat. "A frost giant will never sit on Asgard’s throne."

Odin, weary from the argument, collapsed into Odinsleep—a deep, restorative state that left him vulnerable. Though angered, Loki was alarmed by Odin’s sudden condition and called for the guards. Despite his bitterness, a glimmer of concern for his adoptive father remained.

Back on Earth, Thor’s arrogance remained intact, even without his powers. At a diner, he devoured a box of Pop-Tarts and downed a large soda, but refrained from smashing his cup on the floor, having learned some Earthly manners. A local entered, speaking about a "satellite" that had crashed in the desert and attracted attention from government officials. Erik, Jane, and Darcy perked up, realizing the description matched Thor’s earlier claims.

Thor, hearing this, immediately stood. "Where is it?" he demanded.

The man hesitated, intimidated by Thor’s towering presence. "About fifty miles west."

Thor turned to leave. Jane, alarmed, grabbed her coat and followed. "Where are you going?" she asked.

"To retrieve what’s mine," Thor replied.

Jane pressed further. "That satellite belongs to the government. Are you planning to take it by force?"

"If necessary," Thor said bluntly. He added, "Help me get there, and I’ll tell you everything you want to know."

"Everything?"

"Yes. Once I have Mjolnir, I will explain it all."

Erik, overhearing their conversation, pulled Jane aside. He cautioned her against aiding Thor, whom he now believed to be dangerous. His knowledge of Norse mythology—tales of Thor, Mjolnir, and the Rainbow Bridge—resurfaced, making him uneasy. Despite Erik’s warnings, Jane’s curiosity won out, though she reluctantly decided against driving Thor herself.

Thor, undeterred, kissed Jane’s hand in farewell. The gesture left her flustered and Darcy teasing. As Thor began his journey on foot, Jane’s team returned home, only to find SHIELD agents confiscating their equipment.

Coulson, leading the operation, introduced himself to Jane with a polite but firm tone. "I’m Agent Coulson, from the International Intelligence and Justice Headquarters."

Jane protested. "You can’t just take our research! That’s our work!"

Coulson, unfazed, responded, "Miss Foster, this matter is more complicated than you realize. Rest assured, your equipment will be returned—eventually."

Erik recognized Coulson from a prior encounter and used their rapport to negotiate. "I’ll cooperate, but I need my assistants with me."

Coulson considered this before nodding. "Fine. But let’s move quickly."

The group was escorted to SHIELD’s temporary base near Mjolnir’s landing site. As Jane’s team settled in, Thor arrived on horseback, racing toward the hammer with determination.

Back in Asgard, Thor’s loyal companions—Sif and the Warriors Three—sought to plead with Odin on his behalf, only to find Loki seated on the throne. His calm, calculated demeanor unnerved them.

"Thor’s exile must be reversed," Sif began, her voice steady but imploring.

Loki raised a hand to silence her. "Father’s decree is clear. Thor’s banishment remains."

"You cannot hide behind Odin’s words," Sif retorted. "This is your decision."

Loki’s expression darkened. "You would question the Allfather’s will?"

Sif stepped forward, but Volstagg gently restrained her. "We do not question the throne," he said, bowing. Reluctantly, the others followed suit, kneeling before Loki, though their hearts rebelled against the gesture.

Loki’s smirk widened. "Do not mistake mercy for weakness. Return to your duties."

Defeated but resolute, the group departed, determined to find another way to aid Thor.

Chapter 55: The Mjolnir That Can’t Be Lifted

Inside the base, scientists from SHIELD were conducting research on Mjolnir. Thor also came to the vicinity of the base, lying on the hillside where Coulson stood in the morning, observing the situation at the base.

The clouds brought by Thor's hammer blocked the signals of reconnaissance satellites, and their equipment was affected by the Mjolnir and could not operate normally.

They cleared the routes here and asked all planes passing through here to change to other routes.

Coulson led everyone to the inside of the base. Eric looked at Mjolnir up close with an incredible look on his face. He took out a book. The description in the book, the hammer in front of him, and Thor, made him more certain of his guess.

At this time, the gap left by Thor's invasion of the base was discovered by the guards through surveillance. Sitwell, who was standing next to him, immediately sent people to check the west fence.

When the two guards drove to the gap, Thor attacked them from the other side and easily knocked them out.

When Sitwell found that he could not contact Delancey and Jackson, he knew that someone had invaded the base. At this time, Thor had already put on their raincoats and began to quietly approach the center of the base.

Another guard found Delancey and Jackson lying on the ground and immediately reported to his superiors that there were injuries and the fence was damaged.

The entire base immediately entered a state of emergency, and many personnel began searching for the intruders. Jane, Eric and others inside immediately thought of Thor.

Mjolnir sensed Thor's approach and began to make strange noises. Thor also sensed Thor's hammer. He laughed and began to approach it desperately.

Naturally, his actions could not be hidden from the numerous guards, and someone immediately discovered that he entered the tent from the southern passage. Fortunately, the communication was interrupted and most people could not receive the information.

Thor easily knocked over two guards and continued to rush inside. His figure was clearly visible in the translucent tent. Guards kept reporting his whereabouts. Coulson inside immediately asked his men to prepare for counter attack.

Hearing this, Jane immediately stood in front of Coulson and said that the man was most likely Thor who fell from the sky, and he was looking for the hammer!

Coulson was surprised when he heard this. Although he hadn't figured out whether Thor was who he thought he was, he immediately ordered not to shoot .

Thor was still approaching the direction of his hammer. Ordinary guards could not withstand his punches and kicks. He knocked down many guards along the way.

At this time, Coulson received the news from Sitwell. He immediately took Jane and the other two to the center and asked him, "What happened?"

"That thing emitted a strong electromagnetic surge! Our system could barely handle it!"

Jane immediately said, "It knows he is coming!" Eric nodded.

"Who?" Sitwell looked at Jane in confusion. He didn't know this woman.

"Are you sure he is here to find it?" Coulson turned to Jane and asked seriously.

"I'm sure he told me so!"

"Ok!" Coulson nodded and immediately wanted to contact Tony and Dr. Banner. However, after making the call, he found that the communication here had been completely blocked.

The walkie-talkie is still somewhat useful, but contacting the outside world? They can’t.

Barton had already boarded the lift and reached a high place, always keeping an eye on Thor's figure.

"Barton! Please answer!"

"Sir, do you want me to knock him down? Or do you want to send more people to be defeated by him?" Barton pulled the bow to its full extent and asked Coulson.

"I'll give you instructions later. Don't do anything yet. Wait and see what he wants to do!" Coulson got Jane's affirmative answer. He didn't dare to take action against the person who might be the legendary Thor, and withdrew all the people to prevent him from getting close to the hammer.

Without any obstacles, Thor easily came to the center of the base. Seeing Thor's hammer on the pile of earth, he slowly approached the hammer with a smile on his face.

Coulson came above him and watched his actions quietly. Thor was immersed in the joy of finding Mjolnir and didn't notice that there was someone watching him above his head.

Thor grasped the hammer but was unable to lift it. The smile on his face disappeared instantly. He wanted to pick up the hammer in disbelief, but the hammer, which had been light as a feather in the past, was now as heavy as a thousand pounds. He tried his best but was unable to lift it.

Realizing that he had lost Mjolnir, Thor looked up at the sky in disbelief and roared. Then he knelt on the ground in despair, looking at the Thor's hammer that was so close to him.

"Why? Tell me!!!" He raised his head and asked the sky, hoping to get an answer.

[Thor... Why do you always feel that you must pick up a hammer to have divine power? Are you the god of hammers? Your divine power has always been hidden in your body, and the hammer only stimulates and amplifies your divine power.]

[If you lose the hammer, and you feel that you are nothing, then you don't deserve it! And you will eventually lose what you have, and what you will have... is everything! ]

Thor stared at the sky with wide eyes, and Coulson also stared at Thor below with wide eyes. He was truly the God of Thunder, the legendary Thor. The sky responded to his words!

"What should I do?" Thor stood up slowly. Mjolnir was right in front of him and he couldn't lose it.

[When Jane Foster was lying weakly on the hospital bed, knowing that if she picked up the hammer again, she would be completely taken away by the disease. She still chose to pick it up and use her life to help you defeat Gorr. What was she thinking at that time? ]

[Everyone has the opportunity to pick up the hammer. It just depends on whether you have what it takes to pick it up. It’s better to ask yourself than to ask anyone else: Do you have the qualifications?]

Thor fell into deep thought, and the sky fell silent again, ignoring the shouts of countless people.

Coulson silently glanced at the three people who were shocked. Eric and Daisy looked at Jane as if they had seen a ghost, and Jane herself looked at the sky and then at Thor's hammer and Thor below in amazement.

. . . . . .

Nick Fury frowned and looked at the dark sky. Just now, someone reported to him that Coulson had lost contact with them. He realized that Coulson and his men must have been in trouble.

Not long after, the narration on the screen suddenly spoke and mentioned several names.

"Thor? Hammer? Divine power? Jane Foster? Gorr?"

Nick Fury felt that the screen had revealed a lot of information this time and he twisted his brows tiredly. The previous information about the war had kept him awake, and the Security Council had been urging him to find out more information about the war.

But no matter what, he decided to let Tony go to New Mexico first to see what's going on with Coulson. It's not good news that Coulson and others have lost contact at this juncture.
