[Marvel : Spoiling Spider-man] Chapter 41 - 45

When Tony and his team were analyzing the information about the narration on the screen, worldwide government in the universe of the first-generation spiderman were also analyzing the information, but they could not find Natasha, Tony Stark, Banner, Barton and others who met the requirements, and they did not even know what the so-called Hulk's body was, so naturally they could not analyze any useful information.
[Inside the Daily Bugle office, J. Jonah Jameson stood by the window, a cigar clutched in his hand. Robbie entered the room, his expression grim. "Jonah, your future daughter-in-law is still missing. I’m sorry," he said.]
[Jameson exhaled a plume of smoke, his face clouded with guilt. "It’s all my fault," he muttered. "I drove Spider-Man away."]
[Hoffman chimed in from behind, "He’s the only one who can stop Doctor Octopus."]
[Jameson glanced at the Spider-Man suit hanging on the wall, sighing deeply. "Yes, Spider-Man is a hero. I just didn’t want to admit it. He is..." His words were cut off as a sudden gust of wind knocked him off balance.]
[Regaining his footing, Jameson turned to see the Spider suit was gone, replaced by a note that read: Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!]
["Thief! Bandit!" Jameson bellowed, his face red with rage. "He stole my tights! He’s a public enemy! I’m going to put that stinky spider on trial! I’ll hang him with his own web!"]
[The next day’s Daily Bugle headline screamed: He’s Back! The Masked Menace Returns!]
[Meanwhile, Peter Parker swung through the city at lightning speed, heading toward the location Otto had mentioned. From a distance, Otto spotted him and scaled the clock tower, waiting for his arrival.]
[Peter landed gracefully atop the tower, his gaze hard as he confronted Otto. "Where is she?" he demanded.]
[Otto smirked, his mechanical tentacles writhing menacingly. "Oh, she’s fine," he said nonchalantly. "But first, let’s talk." He waved mockingly, provoking Peter into action.]
[Peter charged at Otto, dodging the tentacles with ease and landing several punches. Despite his agility, Peter refrained from using his full strength, leaving Otto largely unscathed.]
[Seizing an opening, Otto’s mechanical arm grabbed Peter, slamming him against the wall before throwing him off the tower. Peter reacted quickly, grabbing onto the clock hands to stop his fall.]
[As Otto’s tentacles pursued him, one struck the clock’s hands, causing them to snap. Peter fell along with the shattered hands but fired his web mid-fall, striking Otto’s face and momentarily blinding him.]
[Using his web for stability, Peter swung back and caught the falling clock hand with another strand of web. With a powerful swing, he hurled the massive hand at Otto’s feet.]
[The clock tower shook violently as the hand struck, shattering part of the structure. Otto stumbled, his tentacles scrambling for stability as debris rained down. The clock hand pierced the tower wall, narrowly missing Otto’s head.]
[Enraged, Otto roared, breaking the clock hand in two with his tentacles and flinging the pieces at Peter. Mid-swing, Peter kicked the shards away, but a tentacle struck him, sending him plummeting again.]
[Regaining control, Peter shot webs from both hands, anchoring them to Otto’s mechanical arms. Using his momentum, Peter pulled Otto off the tower. Both tumbled through the air, colliding mid-fall before crashing onto the roof of a speeding train.]
[The impact dented the train’s roof, sending shockwaves through the passengers below, who looked up in terror. Otto and Peter scrambled to their feet, each preparing for the next attack.]
"Wow, what good luck! If the falling speed was faster, it would have been hit directly by the train. Peter Parker might not die, but Dr. Otto would definitely be dead."
Tony hurried home and began to build his armor in seclusion. He didn't put down his tools until Jarvis reminded him that the screen had started playing. He took the opportunity to take a break.
"But Peter Parker... can't you use a little more force when you hit people? Are you so afraid of beating him to death?" Tony thought that with Peter's strength, it was outrageous that Dr. Otto, an ordinary person, could withstand so many punches and fight back. Peter was holding back way too much.
"Oh! God bless, please don't let anything happen to Peter!" Aunt May prayed silently.
Uncle Ben was also watching in fear, and he began to doubt whether it was the right choice to let Peter become a superhero.
[Peter stabilized his body first and looked at Otto, who had just stood up. Peter fired the spider web directly, but the mechanical arm reacted very quickly and caught the spider web. ]
[The tentacles pulled hard, and Peter was pulled over on the spot, but he stabilized his body again in the air and took the opportunity to kick Otto twice. Otto took a step back after being kicked, and Peter took the opportunity to do a backflip to create some distance.]
[Otto came to his senses and attacked Peter with his mechanical arm, but he dodged it easily. At this time, the mechanical arm and Peter simultaneously sensed the approach of the bridge, and they both ducked to avoid the bridge.]
[After standing up again, Otto's mechanical arm launched another powerful direct attack. Peter dodged it with a bridge, grabbed the tentacle with his hand, and kicked Otto again when the tentacle retracted.]
[This kick directly sent Otto flying backwards, but the tentacles supported his body from behind. The two tentacles exerted force and immediately bounced Otto's body up, using the force to grab Peter's feet, who had not yet landed and had nowhere to lean on.]
[With a strong swing, Peter crashed directly into a bridge. Fortunately, Peter's spider sense and body balance ability were very strong. He adjusted his body in mid-air and easily passed through the gap in the bridge guardrail. ]
[At this time, Otto was faster and had come in front of Peter. Peter just bumped into him from behind. Although Otto turned around in time, he still had no time to react and was directly knocked off the roof of the train by Peter.]
Chapter 42: Pulling a Train with Bare Hands
[The two men clashed furiously on the side of the speeding train, their movements a blur of precision and power. Inside the train, passengers crowded near the windows, their faces pale with fear and astonishment as they watched the heated battle. During the exchange, Parker’s timing faltered. A mechanical arm, cold and unyielding, shot forward with devastating speed, catching him mid-dodge. The arm slammed him mercilessly against the metal door, the impact echoing across the train.]
[Parker crashed through the carriage wall, landing in the midst of terrified passengers. Screams erupted as debris scattered. He quickly grabbed a nearby handrail, steadying himself. Otto’s tentacles lashed out again, attempting to drag Parker back out of the train. This time, however, they only managed to rip his tattered uniform, leaving Parker momentarily safe inside.]
[Determined to fight back, Parker used the handrail to propel himself forward, swinging in a calculated arc. He burst through the shattered glass, landing right in front of Otto. Without hesitation, he shot a strand of webbing at his adversary, but Otto’s mechanical arms intercepted it effortlessly. The deflected web nearly caused Parker to lose his footing, forcing him to cling to the edge of the train for balance.]
[Meanwhile, Otto’s attention shifted to the horizon. His eyes narrowed as he spotted another train barreling toward them from the opposite direction. Recognizing the opportunity, he ceased his assault and scaled the roof of the train with practiced agility. Parker’s spider-sense flared violently, warning him of the impending danger. He turned just in time to see the oncoming train. Instinct took over, and he flattened his body against the side of the carriage as the other train roared past, missing him by inches.]
[As the danger passed, Peter climbed onto the roof, scanning for any sign of Otto. His senses remained on high alert as he carefully surveyed his surroundings. Just as he thought Otto had vanished, he caught a glimpse of a mechanical tentacle slipping under the train. Parker didn’t hesitate. He descended along the train’s side, crawling along the glass windows to follow.]
[Suddenly, Otto reappeared from the opposite window, his tentacles crashing through two layers of reinforced glass with a deafening roar. The sheer force of the attack sent Peter flying off the train. He tumbled through the air before landing heavily on the rocky ground below.]
[Despite the brutal impact, Parker sprang to his feet, his resolve unshaken. With a quick flick of his wrists, he shot a web toward the back of the speeding train. Simultaneously, he anchored himself to a nearby building, using the tension to launch himself forward. The chase resumed as Parker swung through the air, his determination unwavering.]
[At the rear of the train, Otto stood tall, his mechanical arms slicing through the air like deadly serpents. Without warning, he shattered the nearest window, grabbing a man and a woman from within. The hostages dangled helplessly in his grasp, their screams cutting through the chaos. With a wicked grin, Otto flung the woman toward Parker.]
[Parker reacted with lightning speed. He leaped forward, catching the woman in mid-air and cradling her securely. He quickly constructed a web net beneath her, ensuring her safety before turning his attention back to Otto. The villain, unrelenting, hurled the man next. Parker repeated the maneuver, saving the second hostage just in time.]
"Oh no!!! How could I do such a thing!" Otto covered his head in pain as he watched what was being broadcast on the sky dome. In recent days, the criticism from the outside media against him has become louder and louder. Even if Peter has spoken out to guarantee that what happened in the screem will not happen, he was unable to stop the rumors among the public.
"It's okay, dear! No matter what happens, I will be with you!" Rose was beside him, comforting him with tears in her eyes.
Although Otto was determined to prove himself at this time, he still couldn't resist the pressure from the outside world. Fortunately, Peter always supported him firmly, which prevented him from committing suicide.
[Back on the train, Otto’s frustration boiled over. With a feral growl, he charged toward the front of the train, striking the conductor with a powerful blow that rendered him unconscious. Parker landed behind him, his sharp gaze locked on his opponent.]
[Otto turned with a smug grin, his mechanical arms extending menacingly. He cranked the train’s speed to its maximum, the wheels screeching as the vehicle accelerated dangerously. With a dramatic flourish, Otto ripped the control handle free and tossed it toward Parker. "You’ve got a train to catch!" he sneered before leaping onto a nearby rooftop.]
[Parker barely had time to react before cries of distress erupted from inside the train. A secondary conductor frantically attempted to stop the train, only to discover that the brakes had been sabotaged. His desperate pleas for help reached Parker, who immediately sprang into action.]
[With the previous explosion, Parker's mask was also affected. He had no choice but to take it off. Then he used his spider sense to see that the track far away had not been repaired yet. . . ]
"Jarvis... What should I do if I encounter this situation? Can the power of the new Mark armor withstand the speed of the train?" Tony looked at this scene, frowned, and asked immediately.
"Sir, the power of the new Mark Armor is not enough to match that of a train full of passengers running at full speed. It is difficult to stop it in a short distance by offsetting the power."
Tony's face turned ugly after listening to Jarvis' report. "Add increased power to the next model of Armor. I don't want to just watch this train run off the track!"
"Okay sir, this option has been included in the plan!" Jarvis replied quietly.
Tony looked at Peter Parker's face and muttered, "What would you do, Peter Parker!"
"Sir, under the current circumstances, it might be a good idea for Peter Parker to use spider web to rescue the passengers on the train!"
"What about the train? There's a road under the track! There are countless people underneath. If the train rushes down, the casualties will be unimaginable!" Tony's face looked very ugly. He could probably imagine the tragic scene that would be caused by the train flying off the track!
"Sir, judging from your current armor, I'm afraid there's nothing we can do!" Jarvis gave the reply, but Tony was not satisfied with the answer.
"Shut up, damn it!" Tony couldn't help but curse, walked to the bar, poured himself a glass of wine and drank it all.
[Peter landed in front of the train. The passengers in the train were surprised to see Peter without a mask and said, "It’s Spider-Man!", "Oh! My God! This is him!"]
[Peter turned to address the passengers, his voice firm despite the chaos. "Everyone, hold on tight!" His command spread like wildfire, passengers relaying the message throughout the train.]
[[With the situation growing more dire by the second, Peter leaped to the front of the train. He planted himself firmly and attempted to slow its momentum by digging his feet into the tracks. Sparks flew as the railroad ties splintered beneath him, but the train’s speed barely wavered. Exhausted, Parker jumped back onto the train, clutching his aching legs and drawing deep, steadying breaths.]
[One passenger, desperation evident in his voice, shouted, "Do you have any other ideas?!" Peter turned to the man, his resolve unwavering. "I’ll figure it out," he replied, offering a glimmer of hope.]
[His eyes darted to the buildings flanking the track. Acting swiftly, he shot webbing at the walls, anchoring the train in an attempt to slow it. The immense tension pressed Peter flat against the train’s front, his muscles straining against the overwhelming force. The walls, however, began to give way, crumbling under the strain and leaving Peter no choice but to release the webbing.]
[The sudden recoil sent Parker tumbling, but he managed to regain his footing just in time. The passengers, watching anxiously, breathed a collective sigh of relief as he stood tall once more.]
[With the end of the line fast approaching, Peter knew he had one last chance. He fired a flurry of webs, anchoring them to dozens of buildings. The pressure mounted, the train groaning under the strain as its front flattened, glass shattering in every direction.]
["Ahhh!!!" Peter screamed, his body wracked with unimaginable pain. His suit tore apart under the strain, but he refused to let go. Every ounce of his strength poured into the effort.]
[Finally, the train began to slow. The spider webs snapped one by one under the immense pressure, but Peter held on. The train screeched to a halt just as it crashed into the stone barrier at the end of the track. The front of the train dangled precariously over the edge, suspended in the air. Peter, utterly drained, collapsed unconscious on the wreckage.]
Chapter 43 Harry Discovers Spiderman's Identity
"Unexpected..." Tony looked at the unconscious Peter. He didn't expect that Peter Parker could stop the train with his own body alone. At the same time, he poured some wine, "Cheers to Peter Parker..."
"His body is much stronger than I expected. I am surprised that such a strong pulling force did not tear his body apart."
"Have you calculated the strength of his spider web? And his body strength?" Tony put down his wine glass and asked Jarvis.
"Yes, sir," Jarvis replied. "Based on available information and data analysis of known spider silk, Peter Parker’s webbing has an approximate diameter of 1.75 mm. Its tensile strength is estimated at 3.12 × 10¹⁰ Pascals."
Tony raised an eyebrow. "How does that compare to other materials?"
"Significantly stronger," Jarvis explained. "Peter’s spider silk is approximately 240 times stronger than human bone, 45 times stronger than high-strength alloy steel, and 11 times stronger than diamond. When the train stopped, the spider silk neither rebounded nor broke, indicating it was still within its elastic limit."
Jarvis continued, "For context, consider a fully loaded train weighing 200 tons and accelerating continuously. To bring such a train to a halt in approximately 50 seconds, Peter Parker’s strength would need to be at least 50 to 80 tons. Additionally, his body can withstand tension forces exceeding 30,000 Newtons without tearing."
Tony whistled softly, impressed. "That’s... incredible. Is there anything in nature that compares?"
"Yes, sir. The Darwin’s bark spider produces silk with a tensile strength that can exceed even Peter Parker’s webbing. Its natural properties are fascinating."
"Interesting." Tony leaned forward, intrigued. "Create a detailed report. This might be useful for future projects. Who knows? We could find ways to incorporate such materials into the next suit."
"Document prepared and archived, sir," Jarvis confirmed.
[Just when Peter fainted and was about to fall, the passengers who had been standing behind him lent a helping hand. Together, they helped Peter in from outside the carriage and worked together with other passengers to lift him inside.]
["Gently! Slowly! Put him down carefully!" one man instructed, his voice trembling. Together, they laid Peter on the carriage floor, his body limp and unresponsive.]
[“Is he still alive?” someone asked, their voice thick with worry. No one had an answer. Instead, they stared at Peter’s unmasked face in astonishment. Murmurs filled the air.]
[“He’s just a kid,” an older woman whispered, her voice heavy with disbelief. “Not even as old as my son…”]
[Moments later, Peter groaned softly, his eyes fluttering open. The sight of countless faces staring down at him made his stomach sink. Realization dawned—his mask was gone.]
[A man crouched before him, offering a reassuring smile. “It’s okay,” he said gently. Behind him, two young boys approached, holding the mask in their hands.]
[“We found this,” one of the boys said, extending the mask toward Peter. “We won’t tell anyone.”]
[Peter managed a weak smile as he accepted the mask. "Thanks," he said, slipping it back on. The younger boy grinned and exclaimed, "Spider-Man, it’s great to have you back!" His words carried a warmth that made Peter’s chest tighten.]
[Peter put on his mask and tried to stand up. The people around him immediately helped him up. At this time, Doctor Octopus suddenly broke from outside, causing everyone to scream.]
[At this time, Peter was too weak to fight him. Otto looked at Peter who couldn't even stand steadily and shouted, "He's mine!" A man stood up, looked at Otto bravely and said, "You have to get past me before you can touch him!"]
[After hearing this, the remaining passengers in the car also stood up and defended Peter. Otto looked at them with a wicked smile, "Very well!"]
[Then he shouted loudly, and two tentacles directly blocked the passengers to both sides of the carriage. Peter knew that these passengers could not fight against Otto, so he asked the passengers who were holding him to let go and staggered towards Otto.]
[Otto unceremoniously smashed his head with his mechanical tentacles, and Peter lost consciousness and passed out on the spot.]
"FUCK! Damn guy, he only knows how to take advantage of others!"
"He should go to hell!"
"Oh God! Please help Spider-Man!"
Countless people watching the sky curtain saw Otto's despicable act of taking advantage of others' misfortune and began to curse.
Harry was filled with anger as he watched this scene. He couldn't help but throw the glass in his hand out fiercely. It smashed against the wall with a "bang".
He took two deep breaths to calm himself down. It was his fault that Peter suffered so much. He was a little embarrassed to face Peter Parker.
[That night, a thunderstorm raged over the city. Lightning illuminated Harry’s dimly lit study as he sat alone, nursing another drink. A sudden noise snapped him out of his thoughts. He turned toward the sound and froze. Otto stood in the doorway, Spiderman’s unconscious body draped over his mechanical arms.]
["Where should I put him?" Otto asked, his voice devoid of emotion.]
[Harry pointed to the nearby sofa, and Otto deposited Peter there without care. Harry’s eyes lingered on his friend’s battered body, guilt and anger warring within him.]
["Where’s the tritium?" Otto demanded, his mechanical arm hovering menacingly. Without hesitation, Harry moved to his safe, his hands trembling as he unlocked it. Before he could speak, Otto shoved him aside, his eyes gleaming as he retrieved the precious element.]
[Lightning flashed again, and by the time Harry regained his footing, Otto was gone. The balcony doors swayed in the wind, signaling his departure.]
[Harry turned back to the sofa, his eyes narrowing. He grabbed the dagger lying on his desk, his fingers tightening around the hilt. Slowly, he approached Peter, his voice trembling with bitterness.]
["You brought this on yourself," Harry muttered. "You made me suffer. Now it’s your turn."]
[Raising the blade, he reached for Peter’s mask. "Let’s see your true face before I finish this. I want to look you in the eye when I—" His words faltered as the mask came away, revealing Peter’s face beneath.]
[Shock rippled through Harry’s body. The dagger slipped from his grasp, clattering to the floor. "Peter... No! This can’t be!" he gasped, stumbling back. "This is impossible!"]
[Peter stirred, his eyes opening to find Harry staring at him in disbelief. Summoning his strength, Peter broke free from his restraints, his voice hoarse as he demanded, "Harry! Where is she? Where did he take MJ?"]
[Harry, still reeling from the revelation, muttered, "He just wanted the tritium... That’s all."]
[Peter’s eyes widened in realization. "Tritium? He’s building that machine again! If he succeeds, MJ and half of New York will be destroyed! Tell me where he went!"]
[Harry hesitated, his mind racing. The weight of his father’s death still lingered heavily. "Peter... you killed my father," he said, his voice cracking.]
[Peter was silent for a moment and then said: "There is something more important than the grudge between you and me now! Harry... please! I must stop him!"]
[Harry looked at Peter's eyes and finally told him what he had found out. After all, Harry was not a fool. He knew what Otto wanted tritium for. He naturally could not let him do whatever he wanted, so he secretly sent someone to investigate Otto's hiding place.]
Chapter 44 A Stronger Artificial Sun
"Oh, this is indeed a very shocking revelation," Tony Stark mused, his eyes fixed on the screen displaying Harry Osborn’s confrontation with Peter.
"The person who killed his father turns out to be his good brother? But…" Tony paused, swirling his glass of whiskey thoughtfully.
"Didn’t Harry ever check his father’s body? The stab wounds from the glider were obvious. Any coroner worth their salt could’ve seen that Norman Osborn impaled himself."
Tony set his glass down with a soft clink. "Why does Harry keep blaming Spider-Man? The hatred for his father’s death is understandable, but Norman killed himself. The guy was unhinged, and Peter acted in self-defense."
[“Remember what you say today, Tony Stark!”]
The sudden, disembodied narration of the screen made Tony jump, nearly knocking over his drink. "Hey! Are you spying on me now?" He stood up, glaring at the ceiling. "Or is this your twisted way of saying you have a crush on me?"
The screen ignored his remarks entirely. Frustrated, Tony sank back into his chair, his mind racing. "What’s the point of that message?" he muttered.
Before he could think further, his phone buzzed. He picked up the call to find Nick Fury’s gruff voice on the other end. "What kind of nonsense are you asking now, Stark?"
Tony recounted his thoughts about Norman Osborn’s death and Harry’s misguided grudge. Fury listened in silence, then hung up abruptly without much comment. Turning to Maria Hill, who stood nearby, Fury said, "Pull everything we’ve got on Howard Stark’s death. Every file, every shred of evidence. I want to review it all."
[In an abandoned warehouse by the Manhattan River, Otto looked at the tritium element in front of him and started the experiment again. Mary Jane, who was locked up beside him, kept yelling at him until Otto finally couldn't stand it anymore and turned around to look at her. ]
[Mary Jane yells at him, "I'm talking to you! Now that you've got what you wanted, can you let me go?"]
[In response to Mary Jane's question, Otto said calmly: "I can't let you go, you'll call the police! No one can stop me, now that Spider-Man is dead!"]
[Mary Jane’s eyes widened, disbelief etched across her face. "You’re lying! He’s not dead!" she insisted, shaking her head.]
["Believe it," Otto said coolly, before turning his attention back to the experiment.]
[At this time, Peter had quietly arrived at the abandoned warehouse. Otto noticed Peter's arrival, smiled evilly and ignored him.]
[Peter quietly came to Mary Jane and whispered to her: "Surprise!" Mary Jane looked at him in great surprise, then turned back to look at Otto who was still doing the experiment. ]
["As soon as I let you go, we’re getting out of here," Peter began, but before he could finish, one of Otto’s mechanical arms lashed out, sending a steel bar hurtling toward Mary Jane. She screamed as the bar narrowly missed her, and Peter dodged nimbly, landing in a defensive stance.]
[Otto has stopped operating his machine. Several tentacles hold him in the air. He takes off his goggles, looks at Peter and says angrily: "I know Osborn doesn't have the guts to kill you!"]
[“Turn it off! Otto! You’re going to kill more people this time!” Peter tried to persuade Otto to give up, but Otto had been completely controlled. He said to Peter: “We are willing to take this risk!”]
[“I don’t!” Peter said, and then he jumped towards Otto, trying to trap the mechanical tentacle with spider web in mid-air, but he failed. Instead, he was caught by the tentacle and thrown out with a violent swing.]
[Peter flew into the night sky, adjusted his body, stuck the roof with spider web, pulled himself back, and with the rebound force of the spider web, he broke the glass and kicked Otto.]
[The impact sent both men tumbling into the river below. They surfaced amidst the turbulent waves, and Peter wasted no time landing several punches on Otto. However, the battle was interrupted as the artificial sun began emitting violent solar prominences, the intensity of its magnetic field increasing exponentially.]
[Metal objects throughout the room were pulled toward the glowing orb, including the chains binding Mary Jane. The anklet around her foot dragged her closer to the artificial sun, the metal straining under the gravitational pull.]
[Soon the metal pillars that originally supported her could no longer withstand the gravitational force of the magnetic field and began to bend, and Mary Jane moved closer to the artificial sun.]
[Mary Jane's scream attracted Peter's attention. He turned around and told Mary Jane to hold on, then punched Otto away. At the critical moment when Mary Jane was about to sucked away, Peter used spider web to stick to the rope on her hand.]
[Just as Peter was in a stalemate with the magnetic field, the metal anklet on Mary Jane's foot was sucked into the artificial sun and melted. Mary Jane thus escaped the gravitational pull of the magnetic field, and Peter successfully pulled her back.]
[Peter only had time to say "Run!" to her before Otto knocked him to the ground with a wooden pillar. He picked up the fallen Peter and threw him against the wall, then grabbed his legs and lifted him upside down.]
[Mary Jane, who was hiding in the back, watched this scene, mustered up her courage, and picked up a stick. Just as she was about to hit Otto, the tentacle blocked her weak attack and knocked her aside.]
[A sharp spike stretched out from the tentacle, "Let's see how scared you are!" Just as Otto stabbed Peter, Peter finally recovered under the effect of spider sense, and suddenly shot out spider web, pulling up a thick cable on the ground, blocking the attack of the spike. ]
[The current in the cable flows through the mechanical arm to his body, causing Otto to scream in pain.]
[Seizing the moment, Peter leaped toward the artificial sun’s power source. With all his strength, he yanked the plug, severing its connection. Both he and Otto were thrown back by the resulting explosion.]
[Peter coughed, disoriented by the blast. To his horror, the artificial sun didn’t collapse as expected. Instead, its magnetic field grew stronger, pulling larger metal objects into its core. The destruction extended beyond the building, with road signs and vehicles from nearby streets hurtling toward the glowing orb.]
[Peter looked at this scene in confusion, wondering: "What???" At this time, the large metal objects in the room could no longer hold on, and began to bend, deform, and break, flying towards the artificial sun.]
[Even the road signs and vehicles on the distant streets could not resist this powerful magnetic field and were attracted to it.]
[Otto finally recovered from the electric shock, and his mechanical arm was temporarily overloaded because it absorbed too much current for Otto.]
["Dr. Octavius!" Peter called out, removing his mask to reveal his face. Otto stared at him, his eyes widening in recognition. "Peter Parker?" he muttered, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "The smart but lazy student..."]
[Peter’s expression was grim. "Look at what’s happening," he said. "We have to destroy it before it’s too late."]
[Otto turned to the artificial sun, now a raging storm of energy. "I can’t destroy it," he said, his voice laced with despair.]
[One of Otto’s mechanical arms began to recover, rising ominously. Otto’s face twisted with anguish. "I don’t want to!" he cried, but the tentacle acted on its own, lunging toward Peter’s neck.]
Chapter 45 Death of Otto
[Peter looked at Otto with a pained expression. "You once told me about wisdom," he began, his voice steady despite the chaos surrounding them. "You said it was a gift that should be used to benefit mankind!"]
["These things have turned you into someone else," Peter continued, motioning to the mechanical arms coiled around Otto. "Don’t listen to them!"]
[Otto’s eyes flicked toward his mechanical arms, conflicted. "This is my dream!" he protested, his voice filled with both longing and despair.]
[Peter stepped closer, his tone softening. "Sometimes, for the grater good, we have to compromise. We have to give up what we want most—even our dreams. My Aunt May taught me that."]
[Otto listened to Peter's words and began to reflect. The mechanical tentacles behind him began to feel uneasy. Otto murmured to himself, "You're right!" Hearing this, the mechanical arm opened its tentacles towards Otto, trying to control Otto again.]
[Suddenly, the mechanical arms moved, their claws opening menacingly toward Otto. A voice in his head urged him to relent, to let the tentacles take control once more. But Otto clenched his fists, his face hardening with determination. "No!" he shouted, his voice breaking through the mental noise. "Listen to me… now! Listen to me!" Summoning all his willpower, Otto broke free from the arms’ control.]
[The tentacles loosened their grip on Peter, dropping him to the ground. Peter quickly stood, brushing debris from his suit. "Now tell me how to stop it!" he demanded.]
[Otto hesitated, then shook his head grimly. "It can’t be stopped. It’s running on its own now." His voice carried both regret and resignation.]
[Peter’s heart raced as the situation grew more dire. "Think, Doctor!" he urged, his voice tinged with desperation.]
[Otto thought for a moment and said, "Unless! In the water! Sink it in the water!"]
[After hearing Otto's words, Peter turned around and wanted to sink it into the water, but Otto's tentacles held him back. Peter looked back at Otto in confusion, and Otto said calmly: "I'll do it!"]
[Otto stood up from the water and walked straight to the artificial sun. He looked back at Peter Parker and then walked directly under the machine.]
[At this time, Peter felt a pair of eyes staring at him. He turned around and found that it was Mary Jane. She was looking at him in disbelief and surprise. Just as the two looked at each other, the steel bars supporting the wall behind Mary Jane were sucked away, and the wall collapsed immediately. Peter shouted: "No!!!"]
[Mary Jane also noticed the wall coming towards her, and stepped back in fear, accidentally falling to the ground. At the critical moment, Peter rushed over, held up the wall, supported it with his back, and looked at Mary Jane.]
[Peter didn't know how to talk to Mary Jane, so he could only say "Hi!" to her. Mary Jane responded to him. Peter leaned against the wall and smiled bitterly, "This is really heavy!"]
[Otto has arrived directly below the artificial sun. He roars, and the mechanical arm uses all its strength to break two of the supports that support the machine. The artificial sun begins to tilt.]
[Peter, still holding up the wall, glanced at Mary Jane. "MJ," he said, his voice cracking under the strain. "What if… we don’t make it out of this?"]
[Mary Jane looked at him, her eyes softening. "You love me," she said simply, her voice unwavering.]
["Yes," Peter admitted without hesitation. In that moment, with death a very real possibility, there was no point in hiding the truth.]
["Even though you’ve always said you don’t," she pressed, a small smile forming despite their dire circumstances.]
[Peter nodded, his face earnest. "I do."]
[Otto looked at the artificial sun above his head and said, "I don't want to die as a monster!!!" Then he twisted the last two brackets violently, and the entire artificial sun fell into the Manhattan River, along with Otto underneath.]
[At the same time, Peter sensed the danger and burst out with strength, lifting the entire wall and throwing it forward, picking up Mary Jane. As soon as he turned around, he found a metal frame rolling towards them.]
[Seeing the metal rack so close, Mary Jane screamed in fear. Peter jumped up and swung on the spider web, holding Mary Jane and leaving the warehouse that had been mostly devoured.]
[Below them, the entire warehouse was sucked into the artificial sun and sank into the river. Otto's body floated with the artificial sun and sank to the bottom of the river with it.]
Tony Stark watched the scene unfold on the sky screen, a rare look of sadness crossing his face. "Dr. Otto… What a waste. In the end, he sacrificed himself to fix his mistakes. A brilliant mind gone, with no body left to bury."
He sighed, leaning back in his chair. "It’s a shame we weren’t in the same world. We could’ve collaborated—discussed academic research over a drink." A faint smile touched his lips before fading. "Farewell, Otto. Your genius was undeniable, but your hubris… well, that was your undoing."
"Otto..." Rose looked at Otto who had sunk to the bottom of the river, and hugged him with tears in her eyes. Dr. Otto also hugged her gently, and the two of them embraced each other in silence.
[Near the river, Peter laid Mary Jane on a giant spider web stretched across a crane. He climbed up beside her, his mask pulled back, and their eyes met.]
["I think… I’ve always known who you are," Mary Jane said softly, her voice trembling with emotion.]
[Peter’s gaze didn’t waver. "You know why we can’t be together," he said. "Spider-Man will always have enemies. I can’t put you in harm’s way."]
[He looked Mary Jane in the eyes, "I will...always be Spider-Man! You and I can never be together!"]
[Hearing Peter's words, Mary Jane trembled, closed her eyes, and turned her head. At this time, the sound of a police car siren was heard in the distance. ]
[John Jameson arrived in a police car and saw Mary Jane slowly descending from the crane holding the spider web. He ran toward her, shouting her name as he ran.]
[Mary Jane and John hugged each other on the crane, but Mary Jane's mind was no longer on John. She turned her head to look at Peter Parker in the distance, and Peter was also looking at her in the distance.]
[Finally, Peter put on his mask and left. Mary Jane looked at Peter's figure going away and leaned sadly in John's arms.]
{*EN: Reading this again made me realize how awful this whole MJ and Peter relationship storyline, Honestly I feel sorry for John, he deserve better.}
"Peter Parker is very responsible. He is willing to stay away from her to protect her, but I think Mary Jane will come back to him. Do you believe it?" Tony once again expressed his emotion about the complicated relationship between Peter Parker and Mary Jane, and then said to Pepper with a solemn vow.
"I think so too. Women are always emotional creatures. When she knows Peter Parker's true identity, the strong emotions will make her overwhelmed and she will go looking for him desperately." Pepper nodded in agreement.
"What about you? Will you go crazy for me?" Tony asked suddenly.
"That depends on your performance..." Pepper turned around and smiled, wanting to walk out, but Tony stood up and hugged her in his arms, "Then it depends on my performance..."
On the other side, Peter Parker looked at Mary Jane on the sky with a complicated expression. He found that his relationship with Mary Jane was becoming more and more complicated. Harry liked Mary Jane, and Mary Jane had a good impression of both Harry and him.
He wanted to be a good Spider-Man and help Harry and Mary Jane, but the screen always entangled him and Mary Jane. He was upset and didn't know what to do.
