[Marvel : Spoiling Spider-man] Chapter 11 - 15
Added 2025-01-02 12:12:15 +0000 UTCChapter 11 Norman Exposed
"What on earth does this narrator mean? Why does he care about how Spider-Man saves people? Is he so idle? Why not just tell me how to solve this damn palladium poisoning!" Tony looked at the sky and couldn't help but cursed. The effect of palladium poisoning had already appeared, and he had to start relying on chlorophyll juice to relieve the toxin.
Something happened that the billionaire playboy could never have imagined: The Screen actually responded to his question.
[Narrator: "Tony Stark, your answer is all around you. You will find it."]
People all over the world: “???”
Everyone knew Stark. Some people, like a certain bald man, couldn’t understand why the screen would respond to Tony’s question.
Nick Fury: "Stark?!! What did he ask? Looks like I have to go talk to him."
Even Pepper couldn't help but call Tony, but unfortunately Tony was too busy to pay attention to her.
"The answer is all around me?" Tony stared at the sky in a daze, lost in thought. When he came to his senses, he immediately ordered Jarvis to start checking all his belongings. The screen had already told him the answer, so it was up to him to find the answer.
[Later, Harry is talking to Mary Jane with his phone. While Peter is listening on the side.]
[After the call ended, Harry said Mary Jane was fine, she was just scared, and then apologized to Peter for not telling him about their relationship, he thought that because Peter had not taken any action then he might already lose interest.]
[Before going to bed, Harry asked what who was the man that attack them? Peter didn't know, but no matter what it was, he had to stop it.]
[Norman picked up a glass of wine with trembling hands. Halfway through drinking, he was startled by a strange laugh and asked, "Is anyone there?" As a result, a voice really responded to him and told Norman not to play dumb. He had known it all along.]
[Norman followed the voice and turned around to see another self in the mirror. It was his evil personality. It explained that all these things happened because of Norman action, and held up a newspaper. Norman saw the news that the board members were killed in the newspaper.]
[“You killed them!”
“We killed them!”
“We?”
“Remember? The little accident in the lab!”
“The Serum!”
It was only then that Norman realized that the serum had a problem. Looking at the evil personality’s speech, Norman became more and more frightened, but he could not turn back. ]
"Dad?!" Harry looked at the screen in disbelief. He didn't expect that his father actually hid such a terrible personality that cause a lot of dead.
"Mr Osborn? I'll go find him before anything happens!" Peter also realized the true culprit. If the Green Goblin really killed so many people, he couldn't just sit there and do nothing.
"Peter, don't hurt my dad. He must have reasons." Harry looked at Peter pleadingly. Peter nodded, took his hoodie then began to sling away.
And Norman... No, now one should say the Green Goblin. After finding out that the board of directors wanted to kick him out, he took control of Norman's body and set off after equipping himself with weapons. He was going to kill those board members and the general. By then, even if something happened to him, Harry would be able to take over the company.
Coincidentally, because The Screen let the general of the Ministry of Defense know that something would happen to him, he did not go to observe the exoskeleton armor that night, but came directly to Oscorp Industries, intending to bypass Norman and persuade the board of directors to sell the company quickly.
Although Peter tried his best to rush to the place Harry said, he was still a step too late. He saw the Green Goblin attacking the company's conference room from a distance. When he arrived, everyone in the conference room had been killed.
Peter knew that he could not let the Green Goblin escape and attacked him without hesitation. However, because of Harry's words, Peter did not dare to use his full strength at the beginning, and could only increase his strength slowly, so that he fell into a disadvantage at the beginning.
But soon Peter became familiar with the battle with the Green Goblin. He was no longer limited to the ground, nor did he use his power cautiously. He moved the battlefield between the skyscrapers in New York.
Peter used his extraordinary agility and strength to shuttle freely between buildings and avoid the Green Goblin's attacks. He fired spider web to tightly entangle the Green Goblin, making him unable to move. But the Green Goblin quickly broke free and used his glider to launch a fierce attack on Spider-Man.
Peter dodged sideways and then used spider web to create a huge web, trying to trap the Green Goblin. However, the Green Goblin easily broke through the web and continued to attack Spider-Man with his weapons.
Seeing this, Spiderman immediately used his spider sense ability to accurately dodge every attack of the Green Goblin. He cleverly used the surrounding environment, jumping and rolling, making the Green Goblin exhausted.
As the battle intensified, Spider-Man and the Green Goblin were unwilling to be outdone. Peter used his strong physical strength to knock the Green Goblin away, while the Green Goblin used his glider to fight back.
Spider-Man took the opportunity to rush forward and kicked the Green Goblin away. After the Green Goblin stabilized his body, he pounced on Spider-Man again. However, Spider-Man nimbly dodged the attack and grabbed the Green Goblin's feet with spider web, throwing him out.
The Green Goblin crashed heavily into the wall, and the glider was seriously damaged. He roared angrily: "You damn insect!"
Peter didn't give the Green Goblin a chance to breathe and rushed forward quickly. Just as he was about to launch the final attack, he saw a bystander under the building with a lot of building debris above his head. He rushed down and rescued him.
When he looked back, the Green Goblin had disappeared. Peter was stunned for a moment, and the Green Goblin took the opportunity to sneak up behind him and hit him on the back. Peter fell to the ground, and the Green Goblin laughed triumphantly.
However, 1st Gen Spiderman did not give up. He stood up despite the pain and looked at the Green Goblin with a firm look. He knew that he had to defeat this guy and bring back the kind Norman.
Seeing this, the Green Goblin swung his glider again, ready to give Spider-Man a fatal blow. However, Spider-Man quickly turned around and threw out a spider web, which stuck to him. The Green Goblin struggled, but the spider web became tighter and tighter.
Spider-Man took the opportunity to jump forward and hit the Green Goblin hard with his fist, completely destroying his glider. The Green Goblin was beaten back again and again, but he still refused to admit defeat and tried to fight back with his weapons.
Spider-Man dodged flexibly, using his advantage to constantly change his position in the air, making it difficult for the Green Goblin to catch up. Then, he fired more spider web and trapped the Green Goblin in a huge web.
The Green Goblin struggled hard, but the spider web was not affected at all. At this moment, Spider-Man heard a sirens. The police finally arrived at the scene and surrounded the Green Goblin.
"You can't run away this time! I won't let you hurt more people!" Peter took off his hood and said to the trapped Green Goblin.
The Green Goblin looked at Peter Parker in front of him with gritted teeth, but he was no longer able to resist.
Chapter 12 Rescue Norman
"Thank you, Peter Parker...no...Spider-Man!" The leading policeman saluted Peter, thanking him for subduing the Green Goblin. Although it caused some damage, it was inevitable.
"You're welcome. May I ask, what will happen to him?" Peter looked at the Green Goblin who had stopped struggling. After this tragic defeat, the Green Goblin shrank back and was now dominated by Norman's original personality again.
"Peter... Harry, I'm leaving him to you. I made a big mistake. I was too impatient." Norman looked at Peter weakly and asked him to help take care of Harry. Peter nodded in agreement.
"We may have to wait for a decision from the higher-ups. We little guy can't do anything about this kind of thing." The policeman said helplessly.
Peter nodded when he heard this. At this time, Norman had been taken to the police car and detained. The police also put handcuffs and leg cuffs on him, although Peter felt that they might not be of much use.
But the most urgent task is to find out why Norman has become like this. Norman in the screen mentioned a serum, and he wanted to look for them and study whether he can help cure Norman’s evil personality.
[A new clip suddenly appeared in the screen, and the General, who had been killed, was looking at the glider developed by Oscorp Industries and said that he did not come for the glider.]
[Norman hurried to the laboratory and greeted the general. The general asked about the effect of the super soldier serum. The doctor in charge said that after the mice was injected by it, their physical strength increased eightfold, but there was a side effect.]
[The general wanted to know what the side effects were, and learned that they were violent tendencies, aggression, and madness. When he asked the doctor for any suggestions, Norman stepped forward and interrupted Dr. Mendel Stromm, explaining that all they need to do now is human experimentation]
[The general ignored Norman and looked directly at Dr. Mendel Stromm. The doctor bluntly said that the entire research must be returned to the equation stage. The general sighed when he heard this. Norman turned around and looked at the doctor in disbelief. ]
[The general told Norman that he had never supported Norman and that Norman's plan was approved by his predecessor. He also told him that he had approved the Quest Aerospace to conduct the armor experiments.]
[He bluntly said that if the human trials of the serum failed, he would withdraw his funding and give the funds to other companies, and then he left.]
[But the screen did not show how Peter became Spider-Man, but jumped directly to Norman trying to use himself as a human experiment in the laboratory. Dr. Mendel Stromm kept persuading him not to do so, warning him that the experiment had not yet succeeded.]
[He wants Norman to give him some more time, but Norman says that if he doesn't get the contract, Oscorp Industries will have to close down.]
[Seeing Norman's determined face, the doctor could only help him get a catalyst, which could make the serum absorb into the human body faster]
[Dr. Mendel Stromm helped him fix it and put it into the machine. The doctor looked hesitant, but Norman nodded at him. The doctor had no choice but to press the switch. The green serum behind him quickly vaporized and was sucked into Norman's body.]
[The green smoke completely covered Norman, and Norman's heart rate soared wildly, and his whole body was twitching. The doctor hurriedly expelled the gas, but Norman had already rolled his eyes and his heart rate dropped to 0.]
[Dr. Mendel Stromm ran to Norman with an anxious look on his face, kept calling his name, opened the immobilizer, and started CPR on him. The heart rate machine behind him started beating again. Just as the doctor turned around to look, Norman suddenly opened his eyes, grabbed Dr. Mendel Stromm's neck, and threw him out and smashed him against a machine.]
[The scene changes to Harry entering the room and finding Norman lying on the ground. He rushes forward to help him up, but Norman has no memory of what happened last night. At this time, a lady rushes in and tells Norman that Dr. Mendel was murdered in the laboratory, and his suit and glider were also stolen.]
When Harry saw this scene, he recalled that it had indeed happened, but because it was a company matter, he did not ask too much. It turned out that his father had already turned into the Green Goblin at that time, but the personality had not yet been completely integrated.
The military and the people at Oscorp Industries did not expect that the serum would have such serious side effects. In addition, the person in charge, Dr. Mendel Stromm, had died, so they decided to temporarily abandon the research on the serum and restart it when the side effects of the evil personality could be solved.
At this moment, the narration on the screen sounded again:
[Peter Parker, you changed Norman's fate. Norman should have died, but you saved him before everything was irreversible. This is a reward for you.]
A ray of light fell from the screen and landed in Peter's hand. When the light dissipated, it turned out to be a syringe. Peter suddenly realized that this was the medicine to cure Norman's evil personality. He chased the police car without hesitation and injected the syringe into Norman's body.
"What is that?" A policeman put his hand on his pistol but did not pull it out. He just looked at Peter. Putting his hand on the gun was just his muscle memories.
"The syringe given by The Screen can solve Norman Osborn's violent tendencies. It's a reward for me." Peter was also frank. After hearing that it was the antidote, the police also breathed a sigh of relief.
They don’t be fooled by Norman’s harmless face now. If you have seen the scene where he fought with Spider-Man, you will know that the escorting policemen were all terrified, fearing that the Green Goblin would suddenly attack and hurt them.
J. Jonah Jameson was frowning because his behavior on The Screen caused many people in New York to stop buying his newspaper. This morning, the sales of the newspaper were less than one-tenth of the usual amount, which was like a thunder strike for him.
[Spider-Man and the Green Goblin, the Age of Fear, this is the headline on the front page of the Daily Bugle today, J. Jonah Jameson said proudly, and asked Hoffman to help him apply for the copyright.]
[Peter felt that this was malicious slander against Spider-Man, and that he did not attack the city, but J. Jonah Jameson disagreed with him and told him directly that slander was just speaking, but printing it was defamation.]
[Peter felt that Jameson didn't trust anyone, so he stood up and tried to leave. However, J. Jonah Jameson's cigar flew out of the window and then flew back. Then the Green Goblin smashed the glass and grabbed Jameson's neck, asking him to tell him who provided the photo of Spider-Man.]
[J. Jonah Jameson was very tough this time and did not expose Peter, telling him that it was Spider-Man who sent it himself. The Green Goblin did not believe it, but J. Jonah Jameson still held on tightly and refused to let go. Just when the Green Goblin was about to attack, Peter as Spider-man appeared from behind him in time, and J. Jonah Jameson escaped. ]
[However, as soon as Jameson stood up, he accused Spider-Man of being the Green Goblin accomplice. Peter directly blocked his mouth with spider web and told him not to interrupt. As a result, he was accidentally poisoned by the Green Goblin's hypnotic gas, fell from the air and fainted, and was taken away by the Green Goblin. ]
Chapter 13: Spider’s Kiss
“Well, he’s just a high school student after all. He doesn’t have any guard at all and he fell for other people’s tricks so easily. It’s just that he lacks experience.” Nick Fury watched Peter faint and shook his head, unable to bear to watch.
Ben also felt that Peter should hone his guard. Spider-sense is not omnipotent. It will not cause danger or give warnings. Over-reliance on spider-sense makes Peter prone to tricks that he should not have fallen into.
At this time, countless people were worried about Spider-Man after seeing him being knocked unconscious and taken away by the Green Goblin, and they all began to cheer for Spider-Man.
[Peter heard the Green Goblin's voice in a daze. The Green Goblin thought Spider-Man was very similar to him. Peter disagreed and said, "You are a murderer."]
[The Green Goblin said: "Everyone has their own aspirations. You choose to be a superhero, but people will only be interested in you for three minutes. They just want to see the failure, the fall and death of heroes. No matter what you do, they will hate you in the end. Why bother?"]
["Because it’s the right thing to do," Peter replied, his voice steady despite the fear coursing through him.]
[The Green Goblin shook his head, leaning in closer. "You’re so naive. The people of New York—they exist only to elevate a few exceptional individuals like you and me. The rest? They’re leeches, clinging to your victories but quick to turn on you the moment you stumble. Join me, Spider-Man. Together, we could reshape the future, rise above this pitiful society, and leave our mark on history."]
[Peter glared at him, refusing to respond. The Green Goblin took a step back, his voice turning cold. "Think it over," he said. "Either join me, or fight me until one of us falls. But know this—if you choose to oppose me, countless lives will be lost, and it’ll all be on your conscience." With that, the villain vanished into the shadows, leaving Peter to grapple with his words.]
[The next morning, chaos erupted as newspapers ran inflammatory headlines accusing Spider-Man of colluding with the Green Goblin. Some articles painted him as a "menace," while others demanded the authorities take immediate action against him.]
[Peter sat at the kitchen table, scanning the headlines with a heavy heart. The Green Goblin’s venomous words echoed in his mind: No matter what you do for them, they’ll hate you in the end. His fists clenched, crumpling the edges of the newspaper.]
This scene once again aroused the anger of countless people, Crowds gathered outside the Daily Bugle, their chants growing louder by the minute. "Apologize to Spider-Man!" they shouted, demanding accountability from J. Jonah Jameson for the paper’s relentless slander, and strongly demanded that those reporters not disturb Peter Parker's life.
Remarkably, amidst the uproar, Jameson refrained from exposing Peter’s identity. Though it wasn’t out of altruism, this small act of restraint earned him a sliver of respect from some. Others speculated that revealing Spider-Man’s identity would only further fuel the chaos.
[Later that day, Mary Jane Watson emerged from a building downtown, her expression a mixture of hope and nerves. She had just finished an audition and was lost in thought when Peter appeared, jogging up to her with a wide grin.]
["Mary Jane!" he called, waving. "How did the audition go?"]
[Startled, she turned to face him. "Peter? What are you doing here?"]
[He shrugged, trying to act casual. "Oh, just passing by." He paused, then added with a sheepish smile, "Okay, fine. Your mom told Aunt May, and Aunt May told me."]
[Mary Jane laughed, her earlier tension easing. "You came all this way just to ask me?"]
["No, no," Peter stammered, though his flushed face betrayed him. "I mean, kind of. I just wanted to see a friendly face."]
[Her smile softened. "Well, since you’re here, I might as well tell you. They said I need acting lessons. Can you believe that? Acting lessons for a soap opera!"]
[Peter frowned. "That’s ridiculous. You’re already amazing."]
[Mary Jane shrugged, though his words seemed to lift her spirits. "Thanks, Peter. But I guess I have to keep improving."]
[Peter hesitated, then offered, "How about a burger? My treat. But, uh, I’m on a budget—$7.84 max."]
[Mary Jane chuckled. "Thanks, but I already have plans with Harry tonight. Why don’t you join us?"]
[Peter forced a smile, shaking his head. "No, that’s okay. You two enjoy yourselves."]
[Peter watched Mary Jane from a distance, but unexpectedly saw her being harassed by several men. His face immediately changed and he walked up to her. Mary Jane had a bad feeling and started running, but was eventually blocked by several men.]
[Minutes later, Peter’s attention snapped to Mary Jane as she was surrounded by a group of men. His heart raced as he saw her try to escape, only to be cornered in an alley.]
[The men jeered, their intentions clear as one of them reached for her. Mary Jane fought back, her voice trembling as she shouted for help.]
[Peter didn’t hesitate. With a flick of his wrist, he sent a web flying, yanking one of the attackers off his feet. In a blur of motion, he incapacitated the others, his movements swift and precise.]
[Just as Mary Jane was looking around, Peter suddenly appeared upside down behind her, scaring her. Mary Jane said that she seemed to have a superhero bodyguard and praised Spider-Man for being in a good hero. ]
["Not everyone thinks so," Peter replied, his voice tinged with irony. But Mary Jane’s admiration was unwavering.]
["Well, I think you’re amazing," she said, her smile genuine. "Thank you."]
[Before Peter could respond, she leaned in, pressing a kiss to his lips. Though caught off guard, Peter reciprocated, his heart pounding. The moment ended as quickly as it began, and Peter pulled away, disappearing into the night. Mary Jane stood there, her fingers brushing her lips, a dreamy look on her face.]
Back home, Uncle Ben sat beside Peter, his expression thoughtful. "Peter," he began, his voice gentle, "I know you care about Mary Jane. But sometimes, the people we care for aren’t the ones meant for us."
Peter remained silent, his gaze fixed on The Screen, which replayed Mary Jane’s kiss. His heart was a storm of conflicting emotions.
Uncle Ben continued, "She admires Spider-Man, not Peter Parker. That’s a hard truth, but it’s one you need to accept."
Peter silently looked at Mary Jane on the screen, with a complex emotion in his heart. He wanted to encourage himself to pursue her bravely and tell her his true feelings for her. However, the doubts in his heart made him hesitate.
As a spectator for the first time, Peter was aware of Mary Jane's admiration for Spider-Man, and he was worried that it was just a momentary impulse rather than a real feeling.
He felt that Mary Jane was more suitable for his good friend Harry, who was mature and stable and could bring her a stable life.
Moreover, Peter also knows clearly that as Spider-Man, his life is full of danger and uncertainty.
He was unwilling to involve Mary Jane and did not want her to be hurt. In his heart, Mary Jane's happiness and safety were far more important than his own feelings.
Peter's eyes revealed helplessness and contradiction. He silently decided to bury this love deep in his heart and stay by Mary Jane's side as a friend.
He hopes that Mary Jane can find her true happiness, even if that happiness is not what he can give.
Uncle Ben knows that Peter learned a lot about the future because of The Screen, and he has let go of his feelings for Mary Jane. He knows what kind of life Mary Jane wants. As a person who has experienced this, Uncle Ben knows that Peter wants to help her and Harry, so that he can let go of his burden and become Spider-Man.
Chapter 14 Fire Attack
Mary Jane looked at herself on the screen, who was excited because she kissed Spider-Man. Between Spider-Man and Harry, her future was obviously inclined towards Spider-Man. She didn't know whether this was good or bad!
But Harry thought that Mary Jane should make the decision, and immediately began to find a way to contact Mary Jane, because at this time Mary Jane was often surrounded by reporters, who wanted to wait for Spider-Man to appear.
It is not easy to avoid these reporters unless Peter takes action, but Spider-Man taking Mary Jane away in public will only make Mary Jane the focus of more and more attention.
[One day, chaos broke out as a house caught fire, smoke billowing into the sky. A desperate mother stood outside, tears streaming down her face as she cried, "My baby’s still inside!" She tried to rush into the flames but was restrained by firefighters. Her anguished pleas echoed through the crowd, but no one dared to act.]
[In the midst of the commotion, someone spotted Spider-Man swinging toward the scene. Gasps of relief rippled through the onlookers as Peter landed near the burning house and darted inside without hesitation, his webbing trailing behind him.]
[For a moment, hope hung in the air, but it was quickly replaced by fear as an explosion rocked the building. The mother screamed, nearly collapsing to her knees. Smoke and debris obscured the view, and time seemed to stretch endlessly.]
[Finally, Spider-Man emerged, cradling a small child in his arms. Cheers erupted as he gently returned the child to the mother. "He's fine," Peter assured her, his voice calm despite the chaos. "He's safe!"]
[The mother sobbed with gratitude, thanking Spider-Man over and over. However, the relief was short-lived as several police officers approached. "Spider-Man," one of them called out, "you’re under arrest. You need to come with us."]
[Before Peter could respond, a cry for help echoed from the upper floors of the house. Peter glanced back at the officers. "I’m going to save them!" he declared, his voice resolute.]
[The lead officer hesitated, his face torn between duty and humanity. Finally, he nodded. "Go!" he shouted. "But you’d better come back!" Peter didn’t wait for a second invitation. "I won’t!" he called over his shoulder as he swung back into the inferno.]
[The situation inside was dire. The structure groaned under the strain, and flames consumed the upper floors. Guided by the faint sound of a woman crying, Peter moved quickly but carefully. He finally found the source of the sound, a figure wrapped in cloth. But as he approached, the figure turned around—it was the Green Goblin.]
[“You really have no imagination, do you, Spider-Man?” the Goblin sneered, landing a powerful punch that sent Peter flying backward.]
[Peter scrambled to his feet as the Green Goblin mocked him further. "Always rushing into the fire, so predictable. Why not join me instead? Together, we could do great things." The Goblin’s hand tightened around a razor-sharp dart, his intentions clear.]
["You're insane," Peter shot back without hesitation. The Green Goblin responded by hurling the dart straight at him.]
[More darts followed, but Peter’s spider-sense kicked in. Twisting and flipping mid-air, he dodged most of the projectiles. The Green Goblin was relentless, though, closing the distance and landing several heavy blows. Peter countered with a powerful kick, sending the Goblin sprawling.]
[The battle raged on. Peter managed to smash two of the darts with his fists, but one grazed his arm, leaving a sharp sting. Another dart whizzed toward him, but Peter dodged just in time, retaliating with a punch that sent the Green Goblin flying. Using his webbing, Peter pulled the Goblin back and delivered a second devastating kick.]
[Realizing the house was on the verge of collapse, Peter made the difficult decision to retreat. Swinging out of the burning building, he disappeared into the night. Left behind, the Green Goblin roared in frustration, his voice echoing through the flames. "No one refuses me!"]
Back at the Stark Tower, Tony watched the scene unfold on The Screen. He frowned, analyzing Spider-Man’s movements. "His spider-sense is good, but not flawless," Tony remarked. "He still got scratched. Shouldn’t he have dodged all of them or broken them before they reached him?"
Jarvis, ever observant, chimed in. "The darts were deceptively fast and sharp. They sliced through structural beams with ease, yet Spider-Man’s injury was minimal. It suggests his reflexes and durability are exceptional."
Tony leaned back, thoughtful. "And his fighting improved during the battle. At first, he took heavy hits, but by the end, he was dominating. It’s like he’s holding back intentionally, afraid to hurt his opponents." He sighed, a small smile playing on his lips. "Too bad he’s not on our Earth. I think Peter Parker and I would’ve been good friends."
[Meanwhile, Harry was busy tidying up the house, muttering to himself as he worked. Mary Jane walked in, balancing a bowl of food, and set it on the table under Harry’s watchful gaze.]
[Outside, Norman Osborn arrived with a fruitcake in hand. His face was serious, but as Aunt May opened the door, he donned a warm smile. "Sorry to drop by unannounced," he said, handing her the fruitcake. "Work has been hectic lately."]
[Aunt May welcomed him graciously, exchanging pleasantries before introducing him to Mary Jane. Norman’s handshake lingered slightly longer than necessary as he studied her, a polite but calculating expression on his face.]
[Peter, meanwhile, landed quietly outside, his spider-sense on high alert. He removed his mask just as Aunt May began calling for him. Panicking, Peter quickly scaled the walls and stuck to the ceiling. Aunt May, puzzled by the noise, entered the room but saw nothing out of place.]
[Unbeknownst to her, Peter was pressed against the ceiling, his injured arm dripping blood. Norman entered moments later, his enhanced senses picking up the faint sound of blood hitting the floor. Narrowing his eyes, he scanned the room but found no one.]
[Peter, ever resourceful, had slipped under the windowsill just in time. Norman’s suspicion lingered, but he eventually joined the others downstairs. Peter re-entered moments later, carrying a bottle of red plum sauce. "Had to wrestle an old lady for this," he joked, earning laughter from the group.]
[As dinner began, Peter caught sight of Mary Jane and Harry sitting together. A pang of loneliness struck him, but he quickly masked it with a smile. Aunt May served roast chicken, but when Norman reached for it with his hands, she playfully slapped them away. His expression darkened for a split second before returning to a genial smile.]
[Aunt May noticed Peter’s bleeding arm and fussed over him, but Peter brushed it off, claiming he’d been hit by a bicycle. Norman, however, wasn’t convinced. His sharp eyes lingered on the wound, his suspicions growing. Apologizing abruptly, he excused himself and left the house, leaving Harry puzzled as he followed him out.]
Chapter 15 Aunt May is in the Hospital
[Harry wanted Norman to get to know Mary Jane better. It had been his hope that their interaction would smooth over lingering tensions, but suddenly, Norman seemed eager to leave. Without a word, he turned toward the door. Harry, frustrated by his father’s abruptness, reached out and grabbed his hand.]
[Norman, dominated by the Green Goblin’s twisted influence, turned sharply toward his son. "Do you really think she’s with you because of your sparkling personality?" he sneered, his tone venomous. Harry blinked, startled by the sudden hostility. "What are you talking about?" he asked.]
[Norman pressed on mercilessly, bringing up Harry’s late mother. "Your mother and Mary Jane... both beautiful, charming... until they see the trust fund. That’s when they turn into jackals," he spat, his words cutting deeper than Harry expected.]
[The meaning was clear. Harry wanted to protest, insisting that Mary Jane wasn’t that kind of person, but Norman’s derision continued. "A word of advice," he said, his voice cold. "If you’re going to keep her, make the most of it. Then cut her loose."]
[The room fell into an icy silence. Everyone had heard the exchange between father and son, and the weight of Norman’s cruel words lingered in the air. Mary Jane, unable to hide her embarrassment, stood abruptly and grabbed her coat. "I think I should leave," she said softly.]
[Harry, still reeling, turned to the others. "Did everyone hear that?" he asked. Mary Jane, her voice steady but tinged with anger, replied, "Yes, we all heard what that asshole said!" Though Norman had initiated the insult, Harry bristled at her choice of words. "Don’t call him that!" he snapped, but Mary Jane ignored him and apologized to Aunt May before leaving.]
[Peter shook his head, disheartened by the scene. He couldn’t deny the truth—that Norman’s behavior had spiraled out of control, and his words had left scars that wouldn’t heal easily.]
Harry looked at his father on the screen, who looked kind on the surface but was extremely evil at heart, and closed his eyes in pain. That damn serum turned his father into a devil!
"MJ! Believe me, my father is not that kind of person. He must have been influenced by that damn evil personality to say such things!" Harry looked at Mary Jane, who was secretly brought by Peter not long ago because she was so annoyed by those reporters that she could hardly stay at home. Even her parents were deeply troubled by them, and it happened that Harry called her at that time.
"It's okay," Mary Jane muttered, though her voice betrayed her discomfort. Norman’s accusations weren’t entirely baseless, and deep down, she knew it. She had always been drawn to people who could offer her stability and excitement—a dangerous combination that often left her conflicted.
Seeing her distress, Harry approached and placed a comforting arm around her shoulders. Peter, standing nearby, remained silent. His feelings for Mary Jane were slowly fading, especially after watching the events on The Screen. He realized that her admiration had never been for him but for Spider-Man and the allure of wealth and charm.
Still, watching her being comforted by someone else stirred a pang of emotion in Peter. He swallowed it down, resolving to let go of the feelings he had held onto since childhood.
[On The Screen, the Green Goblin’s voice echoed ominously. "Spider-Man is unbeatable... but Peter Parker is not."]
["I can’t do it!" Norman’s voice trembled with pain, the internal conflict evident in his words.]
["You must teach him a lesson!" the Green Goblin hissed. "Make him suffer! Break his spirit and leave him with nothing. Attack his heart, not his body."]
[Norman, kneeling before the Green Goblin mask, asked weakly, "What next?"]
["Then you kill him," the Green Goblin replied coldly, its voice dripping with malice. "Smart men don’t attack the enemy—they attack what the enemy loves."]
"Oh no," Tony muttered, his expression grim as he watched the scene unfold. "He’s going after someone close to Peter—Aunt May or Mary Jane."
Peter, too, felt a chill run down his spine. His fears were confirmed as The Screen revealed the Green Goblin’s next move.
[That night, Aunt May sat in her modest room, staring at a picture of Uncle Ben. Her lips moved softly as she prayed, the words of her devotion offering her comfort. Suddenly, an explosion shattered the calm. The Green Goblin appeared on his glider, his malevolent presence filling the room. Aunt May froze in terror, clutching her hands tightly as she continued to pray. "Finish the prayer!" the Green Goblin commanded, his voice a terrifying blend of mockery and menace.]
[Peter arrived at the hospital later that night, his heart pounding. Aunt May lay in a hospital bed, her wails of pain echoing in the halls as nurses tended to her. Peter’s stomach churned when she mentioned "yellow eyes," confirming his worst fear—the Green Goblin knew his identity.]
"I'm sorry! Peter, I'm sorry, Aunt May! Please forgive my father!" Harry knelt in front of Aunt May in pain and sincerely apologized for what his father had done. Uncle Ben and Aunt May hurried forward to help him up.
Uncle Ben and Aunt May, though shaken, rushed to comfort Harry. "Harry, this isn’t your fault," Aunt May said softly, stroking his face with maternal affection. "We’re all fine, aren’t we?"
Aunt May stroked Harry's face with a distressed look on her face. She treated Harry as her nephew. Although his father made a mistake, it was none of his fault.
"Your Aunt May is right, Harry, this is not your fault. Norman has been cured by Peter, and he won't hurt anyone anymore. But you have to promise me not to let those serum be misused!" Ben also comforted Harry. He didn't want Harry to live in pain like this.
"Thank you!" Harry wiped the tears from his eyes and thanked the two of them solemnly.
[In the ward, Peter held the hand of the comatose Aunt May, and after a long silence, he apologized to her. From his expression, it can be seen that he felt very guilty because he had hurt Aunt May.]
[The next morning, Mary Jane came to the hospital to visit Aunt May. Peter told her that Aunt May had slept all day. He thanked Mary Jane for visiting Aunt May. ]
[The two talked briefly about the events of the previous night. Mary Jane blamed herself for leaving Aunt May alone, but Peter reassured her that she couldn’t have known what would happen. Their conversation shifted to Harry, and Mary Jane admitted that he had called her, but she hadn’t returned the call yet.]
["Actually," Mary Jane said hesitantly, "I think I’ve fallen for someone else." Peter raised an eyebrow. "Seriously?" he asked, trying to mask his curiosity. Mary Jane nodded, her cheeks flushing slightly. "At least, I think so."]
[She described the person as someone who had saved her twice, though she’d never seen his face. Peter couldn’t suppress a small smile, knowing exactly who she meant. "Spider-Man, huh?" he teased, his tone lighthearted. Mary Jane rolled her eyes, but her smile betrayed her amusement.]
[Peter, pretending to be close to Spider-man because of his photo, began to praise the hero. "He’s mentioned you," he said, grinning. "He said that when he looks at you, everything feels... different. Stronger, weaker, exciting, and terrifying all at once."]
[Aunt May, awake and listening quietly, smiled warmly at Peter’s words. Mary Jane reached out to take his hand, touched by his sincerity. At that moment, Harry walked in, carrying a bouquet of flowers. Peter quickly pulled his hand away, and an awkward tension filled the room. Greeting Harry with a forced smile, Peter tried to maintain composure.]
[Later that night, Harry returned home, only to hear a strange laugh echo through the house. "Dad?" he called, climbing the stairs. Norman appeared in the doorway, his face eerily calm. "What’s wrong?" Norman asked. Harry hesitated before blurting out, "You were right about Mary... she’s in love with Peter."]
[Norman’s expression darkened. "Does Peter care for her?" he asked coldly. Harry nodded. "He’s had a crush on her since fourth grade. He acts indifferent, but she’s always been the one he cares about most."]
[Norman apologized to Harry for not spending enough time with him for so many years. Harry expressed his understanding of his father. Norman thought it was just an excuse. He was proud of Harry and he shouldn't have ignored Harry. He would make it up to him and claimed that he would seek justice for him! Then the two hugged each other! ]
