Analyzing Todd from Breaking Bad (UNEDITED REACTION!)

Yes I remember that! When Jessie rescued him by connecting with him, that boy had soooo much neglect…it’s very similar to many children I’ve worked with in my career and that’s why I connect with Todd…people can analyze Todd all day from a distance but when you see some of this in person it’s different😢

Also TOM I’d love to see you talk about where you think Skyler, Walt Jr, Holly, and Marie go from here

I completely agree with your take on the empathy thing. I believe Todd as the soft spoken rather “gentle” person he is (compared to his family lol) he had to learn how to mask to get by. The “empathy” he has shown is yes always just what logically seems right.

I used to love Analyzing Evil, shame he uses AI voice/model synthesis now to trick his viewers into thinking that’s really him sitting in the chair and really him speaking but it’s not.

Todd is literally like if Anton was stuck at age 8.

You gotta watch No Country For Old Men now.

Maybe Todd keeping the tarantula was more to show that he is emotionally and mentally on the same level as the child he killed. They're interested in the same things. Except one of them is supposed to be an adult.

DOGFACE

Do you remember the Peekaboo episode with the silent redhead kid? He wasn't exactly mute, but he didn't speak much and he lived in a fractured, dysfunctional world, split between the professional niceties of the informercials on TV and his scheming, swearing, psychotic, junkie parents. The padlock on his door, the isolation and neglect, and chemical-focused environment is reminiscent of the infamous abandoned foster kids of Romania in the 1980s, leading to callous-unemotional traits, which are precursors to psychopathy. That's who I think of when I think of Todd as a youth. I see Todd as a person who emulates professionalism and politeness of the TV land, knowing that's how he's expected to present himself to the outside world, regardless of what happens behind closed doors (e.g. his own home). His understanding of interpersonal relationships is superficial, because he didn't have any real-life examples to go by and he couldn't trust anything his parents said. In an unspoken loop of consequences (because Breaking Bad is good at that), I think the world that Heisenberg perpetuated creates people like Todd. So, again, Walt was the catalyst for the kinds of things that happen when you try to create an evil empire; it turns on you with the same indifference with which you created it.

Dan

i would love to see you do more analyzing evil videos, there are some really really interesting characters out there that would be really cool to see you breakdown. Michael Myers for example i would love to see your opinion on him.

Really just goes to show the extreme complexities of the human mind.
