Hello everyone!
I am happy to announce that I have completed a basic draft of the first episode of Cowboys & Space Rangers: The Evolving Masculinity of Pixar.
This will be a series of videos that are going to delve into Pixar’s filmography and history to better understand the studio’s relationship with masculinity. The plan is that I will only be releasing each episode once I have completed the edit for the next one. My goal with this will be to make it so patrons are able to get early access to this series and give me feedback.
Title Sequence: I am currently trying my hand at animating a title sequence where the Pixar Ball bounces off of different objects before rolling into the letters of the title. I had a rough draft on blender that I may upload, though I am also considering commissioning an animation or doing it in 2D.
Music: Aside from one section in this video, there isn't any background music for this video. I will likely be commissioning music from Molly Noise, but I might also pull from parts of these film soundtracks where applicable.
Quotes: I want to get other people to read some of the quotes, specifically for the various pixar reviews. I will be reaching out to different collaborators for this.
Regardless, this should still be a pretty complete draft that is basically fully edited. So I hope you enjoy this first installment which mostly goes into the history of Pixar animation.
