A few months ago, an awful movie called "Free Lunch Express" came out, meaning to be a satirical look at the life of Bernie Sanders. While some people might vaguely recognize some Sanders cliches, there's very little of his actual life in this movie. What's truly offensive is how relentlessly unfunny it is.
This video is a bit drifty, and could probably have used a more focused script, but I have to be honest, it was tough covering this movie. I had to choose a few select aspects to discuss, and only touch on them briefly, otherwise I could have gone on for a while about how unfunny this thing is. Earlier versions of this video had sections about how this movie could have been good, or sections on how it's very much a callback to the comedies of the late 90's/early 2000's. But to really explore those ideas I would have had to do more research on those movies, and I was pretty much spent by the time I got to that movie about Donald Trump.
On the flip side, working on this video got me to re-watch The Death of Stalin, which was much better the second time around. It also convinced me to finally watch Jojo Rabbit, which I absolutely adored. I want to make a video about all the different types of crying I was doing during the last twenty minutes of that movie.
In other news, I am considering doing another stream, so if you want more info, check out the community post mentioning this video is up for patrons/members. I'm also considering doing some kind of patrons/members exclusive stream in the future. It would be available for everyone in the future (I hope), but it would let me speak with people directly. I'm just considering how much I might want to actually do that.
