Hello there dear Habsburgs and Bourbons,
moving on with the jewelry design, materials and heightmaps for the Mythic Dawn Priestess project.
As i posted lately, I modelled some very simple medallion-based layouts of the jewelry and tried to distribute these elements in a balanced way.
I added a dark pearl at the bottom end of the front lacing cords. I still want to engrave it a little bit more.
I also played with opacity masks and created some holes in the medallions, which made them look lighter.
I distributed the medallions and rings using iToo Railclone plugin for 3dsmax. It allows you to distribute objects and sequences of objects along a chosen spline which is really cool when you want to design a decorative chain. Of course you have to UV map the modules nicely before distributing them ;)
Anyways, we're getting closer and closer to some first screen tests of the new outfit. Stay tuned :)
I'm really curious how it will look like on a character. It always is a bit different than on previews.
Besides this project was very emotionally involving for me. On one hand, I wanted this outfit to stay Leto, and don't change the first look, and on the other hand, I wanted to show the Leto's author that I don't need that inspiration to do a similar outfit in 3d.
I'm glad the end is nigh :D
Have a nice weekend guys!
K.
