About Development Steering

Hey guys I will be trying out some new format for DS. This is because I did not expect that DS will be more time consuming than Target Addition, I always thought it will be the other way around. However after standardizing the Target Addition work flow, now DS have been a consistent time consuming task. I want to keep DS a monthly thing as I think it is the most fair way for all paying Patreon members.

Options on DS will now be tag Quick to indicate that this change is quick and easy and will most likely be included as long as it is voted. Slow will be tag to indicate that this change takes time. Slow options can be archived for a later date so that the main development takes priority and I hope that all members understand this. I believe this balance out the fairness to members and the importance of the game development schedule.

I will also be allowing a new way to interact with DS. Similar to how Target Addition allows community to add suggest their option, DS now also allow the community to add their suggestion to vote.

How it works:
On Discord, I will add a PUBLIC channel called #ds-suggestion. #ds-suggestion will be a channel separate from #Suggestion, ds-suggestion being the one that allow adding to vote. A response that receive the most reaction* will be added to DS as a community option. However the response/suggestion should be clear and possible while development speed will also be dictated by me.

Why the 2 channels?
Suggestion added can be discuss among players. When added to ds-suggestion, it is better that no multiple responses for essentially the same suggestion so that I can see clearly that this is what everyone wants.

Why do I allow every players suggestion available to be added to vote?
While it seem unfair that players that plays the game for free gets to impact the game so much, I believe free players are also important to the game's development. Many free players truly love the game and by supporting it just by playing should not mean their voices should not be considered. Not only that, the voting power still lies within the Patreon players so I think this balance out the two.

I hope all players understand this changes and I believe this will help the game develop better and faster. I am grateful that I am blessed with a great community of supporters and I will work harder to finish this game.
