The Menhirs of Memory

"Standing stones, surrounding a raised rock plinth, lie in a tranquil lake.

Supposedly these stones are known as The Menhirs of Memory.

The legends tell of generations of druids who came to the stones to tell their stories. Imparting their knowledge into the very obelisks themselves. Supposedly that knowledge lies there still, waiting to be heard by those who know how to listen.

A small, almost ornamental, wooden bridge crosses the bend in the lake to the central raised plinth, ringed by Menhirs. As you start to cross it you feel uneasy. You can feel the standing stones very presence, some 18ft high, looking down, silently judging. Another step forward and you feel the small hairs on your body stand up.

Suddenly, there's a crackle of energy as bolts of electricity jump from stone to stone. As the lightning whips up in to a furry around the central platform there's a  thunderous tearing sound as something inhuman begins to appear within the centre of the maelstrom..."

Hey all :) 

It's been awhile since I wrote a little preamble but for once I'm not posting the map in a mad dash at midnight! 

With this map I wanted to make something bright, bold and calm and so started with a tranquil garden of sorts with a bit of a twist with the standing stones and platform. That then lends itself to all kinds of things - magic ceremonies, portals and sacrificial alters being a few of them. Anyway, I hope you find this map useful!
