idk if you've read them, but the animations remind me of these books I used to read as a child, the Dead Famous series? they did informative books on famous dead people and had cartoons that made the whole thing so engaging. Love your work!

really excellent video large joel. you always bring a clarity and articulation to your videos that does a great job at illustrating the larger points you are trying to make. i can't stand twitter so i've never heard of shoe before this video but I can definitely appreciate the larger context of internet discourse you're pointing out by using that whole weird exchange as an example of. also, big ups to the animator for this project, would be great to see more collaboration with them in the future, the animation style fit your subject matter like a glove! i'm glad you enjoy making this content because i enjoy consuming it, please keep enjoying it!

This is a fantastic video, thank you for talking about this Henry! I am honestly so glad someone finally made a video about Shoe's cringey debating style. As a former debater myself, I was always turned off by the dishonest and possibly malicious way she presents counter-arguments. From what I've seen of her stuff, she's always either over-simplified or misrepresented counterarguments, making them seem nonsensical or evil. This allows her to make an easy retort, come out looking like the "good guy", all while ignoring the larger, more complex questions at hand. That tells me that she has no interest in actually having an intellectual discussion about important issues, she just wants to put people down and "win".

A video on the same topic as my college senior thesis?? Sign me the fuck up.

Shoe’s removal of the context of the original argument in order to call the people that disagreed with her animal fuckers is similar to what people have done to her friend Vaush accusing him of defending CP (I’m not saying he has) which I doubt she approves

Great vid! Small correction though, another part of Shoe's content shift had to do with the splintering of the Anti Sjw community starting in late 2016. between the more left learning anti sjws and the alt righters. In 2017 Shoe at VidCon met Contrapoints and Hbomberguy who she credited for changing her positions on Non-Binary folx and other issues.
