I find it so poetic that Luffy's stomach answered Sanji. Even unconscious, Luffy's body calls out for Sanji. I also noticed this time- After Sanji beats up Luffy, the storm starts, and the storm doesn't clear until they reconcile. I love this show so much. I wish the characters didn't have such heart wrenching backstories though.

To be honest I feel like that would be actually a great idea, instead of filler If Toei animated the mini-storie arcs on the cover pages, that would expand the gap between the anime and the manga, not only that but plus they would be giving us some canon stuff at the same time. I agree with that.

First of all the Manga is one year ahead, Secondly using Naruto and Bleach as examples of how fillers is used is really unfair, because they overdid it with fillers. Fillers isn't a bad thing in an anime, if used correctly they can increase the lure and enhance world building, G8 is a very good example. If they added a mini filler arc after WCI they wouldn't need to kill Reverie. The only reason they don't do it, is because they don't want to spend money on writers and animators, ffs, they don't even need to write new shit, they can use the cover page stories that Oda bless us with in the Manga.

For real. I think they do about as well as they can. Sure they could go the Bleach or Naruto routes and put a couple of years of filler in, but I'd take the pace Toei runs at over that. The show lives only like half a year behind the manga and hasn't had a filler ark last more than 13 episodes. That's unheard of for a series of this length.

I'm not saying that Toei is perfect, they definitely pull up some crazy ass things sometimes, but over all I think that in this particular arc they did a good job, that's all I'm saying.

Anything compared to Desrossa is good, ok I can give you great OST and musicals, but over all bad pacing, which is still an issue in the anime, they just rather ruin good content with bad pacing than creating filler arcs, it's crazy the last OP episode took 6 pages from a chapter, Toei is evil and we should fight them.

Post cracker battle its actually very well paced. I stopped watching the anime because the Cracker battle lasted forever, but it has really good pacing and emotion from that point on. Also really great to see how well they transformed the musical Alice in Wonderland motif with Big Mom.

I actually thought that they did a better job on a lot of aspects compared to the manga. They really filled some holes and did a good job with the pacing. The animation and art improved way more from Dressrosa. I love the color palette that Toei choosed for this arc, they made it vivid and lushful just how it was supposed to be "Whole Cake Island", I think it was pretty suitable. Without mentioning the amazing new OST that they composed for a lot of crucial scenes, OMG! I was about to forget the amazing musical pieces! They put so much texture to the arc too. That's my opinion.

I think that Luffy and Sanji's relation went to different level after so many hardships with each other that they're definitely brothers for life right now. It's interesting how outta all of the things, a gorwl had to be the signal for Sanji to know where Luffy was. It's really symbolic. After Sanji being honest about his feelings and him wanting to save his biological family Luffy in fornt of him says: "Well, that's the way you are". That's such a great moment. Luffy clearly knows Sanji better than anyone on the crew (besides Zoro). :(

There's a scene with Sanji during Water 7 along with Chopper where for the first time they see Robin before their eyes after the whole Iceberg incident provoked by her and Blueno, after her stating that she was leaving the crew, Sanji says to Chopper the next sentence: "Chopper... remember one thing... A real man forgives a woman for her lies. " Sanji on ep. 825 was heartbroken saying to himself that Luffy was lying about his food being good, which makes you think that he knows by now as a grown man that his mother lied to him when she praised his food as a kid. The quote from him on Water 7 correlates totally with his flashback with his Mom, his ideals of what is a man, besides Zeff, were absolutely molded as well by his experience with his mother, Sora. All of this is beautifully written!
