Some kind of interdimensional rifts had begun spitting out enormous monstrous beings into densely populated areas, the reason for which remains a mystery to this day. With the World's Eye firmly focused on Versailles, these events were kept strictly need-to-know. They were only declassified long after the dissolution of the Soviet Bloc in the early 1990s, confirming for the first time a fact which had been an outlandish Ukrainian myth of the 20th Century.
