Timelapse of the November 2025 Update header

Hello my lovely patrons. I just wanted to share a timelapse ahead of the start of the month. I don't normally share these, but this one has an interesting story behind it.

I was trying to come up with an appropriate illustration featuring one of my characters. I usually default to Star Wars in these scenarios, and I did try that. However I couldn't quite get the drawing I wanted to come out of my pen.

As you can see, it was a bit of a struggle. So I walked away for a few hours, came back somewhat inebriated, and banged out the drawing from the timelapse. It started as an exploratory sketch, but I quickly realized this was the one. So I took the sketch as far as I could.

About half way through the sketch I found the perfect character to fit to this pose. It's Alex from Double Take! This serves as a sort of epilogue to that comic, in which the two are both dreaming of an idealized feminine Alex in all her glory. A nice dream for June, but perhaps more of a stress dream for Alex.

So I wanted to ink this thing like I normally do, but the inks just weren't as solid as my pencils. I fell out of my flow state once I started inking and my active mind took over, which made things worse. I've been here before, however. Bad inks can kill a great sketch. So instead of pushing to make the inks better, I cut my losses and just cleaned up the sketch at a lower opacity. The colors happened quickly after that and gave me no issue.

That's it. I just wanted to recount an interesting time with a drawing that I'm quite happy with, through the ups and downs. See you on Monday for more Love Space 3!
