OMG!! This was such a hilarious movie!!! 😂 Some parts made me laugh so hard, but there were also a few I didn’t really get LOL. I still loved it though, and I hope you’ll have fun watching it with me too~ (/≧▽≦)/

Just fun info cause this comedy group has a bunch of real history nerds. The monks that hit themselves with the wooden plank were real - likely the Cathars, I might have the wrong one. They were a precursor to flagellants who did much worse things to themselves. This group was part of a sect that believed there was a finite amount of suffering in the world, and by hurting themselves they lessened how much someone else would have. Since the witch scene is right there, they had scary ass ways of judging witches. Like throwing her into a pond and if she floated was a witch, but if she sank and drowned she wasn't so she was now with god. French castle - The taunting style was real but not until centuries after this. The joke with the cow is a classic history joke reversal. Diseased dead animals were tossed into castles to get the defenders sick while you waited them out. There were also hundreds of kings, nobles, clergy etc who all said they found the grail, so the french saying they had one is very likely a real response. The pronunciation of Kuh-nig-hits for knights is part of how english worked. Every letter was pronounced, but they also had other letters for things we use today like "th" which was that the fancy "y" people see and make the joke Ye olde Inn about. Text during the animated parts - Benedictine Gaelic art. Impossibly beautiful to see in person, and especially worth noting here because Secret of Kells is movie you would absolutely adore. The wedding - Most likely takes place in the English fens region due to the swamp that ate castles in floods and just poor solid land. By this point it was probably already Anglo-saxon, but at minimum was Angles. Edited to add stuff.

The coconut horse is because they couldn't afford to get real ones for the movie.
