but they said that Emilia's hair colour is like her father's, so it can't be Geuse right? I did find it weird that he started crying like that when seeing her, I wonder why 😲

2025-10-17 01:21:17 +0000 UTCI haven't read the manga's or light novels or anything, but at this point I think young Emilia accidentally hit the nail on the head. Fortuna and Geuse might actually be her mother and father, but due to fairly obvious reasons can't let that be known. That would also explain his reason for breaking down on meeting her. I very easily could be wrong though.

2025-10-16 00:19:43 +0000 UTCI love that Fortuna says that she and her family has mean eyes and it's just exactly the same what has been told to Subaru and how he and his mother had mean eyes. Also, I find it worth mentioning that if Emilia is an half-elf, meaning half human and half elf and Fortuna is an elf and her brother is Emilia's father, that would mean Emilia's mother was a human. So I don't think Satella can be her mother, unless maybe both Emilia's parents are half-elves like Emilia and not a "full" elf and a "full" human. We actually see Petelguse here and he looks very sane compared to what we saw of him back in season 1. What a crazy change. I wonder why he was constantly checking up on Emilia though. Now we also know for sure that Betty was referencing Petelguse when she said Geuse. I wonder what the seal is about and if we ever get to see what's behind it. I don't think the seal was keeping the forest from the rest of the world though, I think you maybe got something confused, unless it's me who's confused. There is a lot of info to take in after all. Nice to see Garfiel now work together with everyone, love that Otto, Garf and Subaru has become a trio now. I find the sentence Emilia says "Today, the painter feels like coloring the sky red and the forest white!" as a kind of an ominous foreshadowing of some kind. Not quite sure what the red sky would be referencing but the white forest would make sense since the forest in the present is frozen. I also wonder why Petelguse started to cry when he saw Emilia. Maybe something to do with Satella or something? They did call themselves sinners so I wouldn't be too surprised if he had some connections to Satella in some way. Which would also explain the season 1 version of him that was crazy for her love. I hope we learn some more about it at some point. It is not explained too well, but back in season 1 when Julius and Subaru were fighting Petelguse, Julius actually mentioned that Petelguse wasn't human and rather a spirit posessing a human body. That would also explain probably his "weakness" to spirits, as it's easy to guess that a spirit's biggest enemy would be another spirit, since like Puck once said, spirits don't really die, but I think it's probably different if you're struck by an attack by another spirit. That's all just my guess though. I'm glad you remembered the guy we barely got to see in the first episode of season 2 and never again after that. I wonder what his connection to Echidna is, he is the archbishop of Greed after all. We were waiting for answers in Emilia's past and now we have even more questions lol.
