WHAT AN END TO BOOK 2!!!! The situation is so BAAAAAAD!! I totally didn't expect things to turn out this way. My biggest disappointment is Zuko 😭 I thought he started to get on the right path I can't believe what he did!!!!!!!!!  I can't wait for Book 3!! 😭 💔

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that haha, yea I just don't think the Avatar state is worth it to be honest 😓 I think maybe the guru got involved because there is no Airbender left to teach Aang how to enter the Avatar state. I didn't think much of Iroh at the start I saw him as an enemy because he is with the fire nation, but as I continued to watch and got to know his character I really like him a lot now, and that's why I'm so mad at Zuko for choosing to go back to his dad instead of listening to his uncle who has been supporting him since he got kicked out of the fire nation!

Love your rant at the end about the avatar state being overrated and love just straight up being more valuable. I never liked the guru character after that episode. His advice sucks, as you said earlier it's contradictory. Maybe it worked for him or whatever but he seems way to dismissive of the value that comes from those earthly bonds he's telling the avatar to give up. Heck, Aang would be DEAD if it wasn't for those bonds. Side note: It doesn't seem like the other avatars ever needed that guru's help, just saying. Uncle Iroh on the other hand continues to be my favorite character, his advice is always fantastic. I wish Zuko would understand that Iroh is more of a father to him then the fire lord will ever be.

100 Percent agree. It's something I've always respected about the writing in this show, it's a very mature depiction of childhood trauma and neglect.

"Is his father's love that important to Zuko?" Well, yeah. Recognizing and accepting that a parent will never love you is one of the hardest things to deal with. Most people in that situation in REAL LIFE never get to that point, because in their mind it is the ultimate proof that they are they are not "good enough". If your own parent doesn't love and respect you, then who else in the world can?
