OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom Movie Reaction/Review

Comments

The Circlet demon is similar to the Silk Hat demon that Ains gave Arche's (the magic user who he had Shalltear kill in season 3's) head to, so it could use her spells later.

Paul Shuster

ohh so that's the grandmaster's personality! she was getting on my nerves from the start her attitude is unbearable πŸ₯² I see so she is more like a conspiracy theorist, but got that one right with Ainz and Demi working together πŸ˜“ I really didn't like what Demi did to Calca, I didn't know that about her but now I hate him even more 😭

SprinkleVerse

oh wow she got a skill like that? 😲 just what she needed to spread the the name of Ainz πŸ˜‚

SprinkleVerse

yea that's the theme they went for Ainz and his friends, monsters and super dark πŸ₯²

A lot of tings were cut due to the movies length, but one thing i think gets lost in the movie is how dumb Remedios is. the books make a point to show she is never very smart, and is only muscle able to fight. she is hot headed and rash, and never really thinks things through. and due to the movies length, this sometimes gets misconstrued as her being smart. for example, when she points out Jaldabaoth and Ainz are working together, it seems like she is a genius here, but in the books it was clear she was just saying it without any facts to back it up because it would hurt Ainz's reputation, but it just happened to be right. to hammer this home, they also cut out a scene of them meeting with blue rose, who sent them in Momon's direction, and when pointed out, she says blue rose must be working with them as well. Another more sad thing is we didn't really get to see any characterization of calca, but before the invasion begins, she is one of the few people who was unbothered by ainz being undead, and said as long as he treats his people fairly, then there is no issue. this makes it all the more sad when Jaldabaoth turns her face into mashed potatoes as a weapon.

It's so cool that you caught the resurrection wand that Ainz used on Neia. I almost missed it myself when I saw it in theaters. Something interesting that the author revealed in the novels is that after being resurrected, Neia got a special ability that both her and Ainz are unaware of. She is able to influence the thoughts of others, basically brainwashing. But right now it only works on those with unhealed emotional scars. Which considering after the war, is going to be a whole lot of people πŸ˜”

Alexander Mendoza

I love that Ainz was trying to sell off his runes and that was his secret project to advertise the runes to everyone. Aye Neia wasn't part of his plan; it just happened by accident like in the colosseum a few episodes ago. Yeah, Ainz may not be doing everything, but letting out his Floor guardians out in the world? Yup, that's certainly his fault, and maybe his guild mates for creating the guardians like that🀭🀭🀭

Crawlingchaos03

that is just crazy, but yea that's what everyone has been saying, that the novel is much darker πŸ₯²

SprinkleVerse

ohh that explains those white robes haha πŸ˜‚

SprinkleVerse

wow 😳

SprinkleVerse

I didn't even understand what that was about the runes until the end πŸ˜‚ it just seemed like bad acting to me by those monsters lol I see I see! thank you so much for answering that question for me, I totally missed the part where Albedo mentioned that πŸ₯²

SprinkleVerse

ohhh I see! doppelganger! 😲 thanks for answering my question πŸ’–

I love this movie but have one very specific problem that has two solutions. The scene near the middle where we hear Ains' thoughts is out of place for the movie. Either we should have had a lot more scenes with that like we get in the series making it more like a great arc as a movie, or we shouldn't have gotten any internal thoughts at all to make it a great movie about Neia.

it was actually more due to the fact the demi-humans don't see what they are doing as evil. its just a feeding ground for them. a human would seem like the spawn of evil to a cow, but that's not really the case. incidentally, the two demi-humans next to VIjar remarked that the light was blinding to them, which meant they actually are evil. regardless of personally alignment, the war is just prey vs predator.

Nyahlathotep

Back in season 1 we heard about the Abelion Hills, that is were Demi get his "sheep" from for the scrolls. We also heard later Ainz describe the region as having demi=human tribes that constantly fought, so Demi united or forced all the tribes to together to start this war. What is interestering about that whole plot is that moment when the grandmaster uses her ultimate technique on the demi-human and it does not affect him because his "alignment is not evil" because it paints subtle picture of how humans have treated the demi=humans of that region, they are "evil" and should be anihilated. Dark as what happened to the humans was, they were also doing some bad things in the name of good.

Wayte Elsik

i personally dislike it, they remove the neia pov witch was for me the strong point of the book, of course they have to cut content and can't pass too much time in inner thought like in all season but with the movie format its worse they should have go for a longer one

Nicolas guitton

its just a basic doppel not pandora

Nicolas guitton

In last scene it was Pandora from the start when they find him in city.

Rouoko

That prince was just a doppelgΓ€nger and the real prince is already dead

Rois Sidiq

It's funny to me how hard they tried to make Neia a walking rune weapon ad, but she definitely became an ad for the Sorcerous Kingdom πŸ˜‚ Also the face of the Prince at the end was most likely a greater doppelganger the same race as Pandoras Actor. Albedo briefly mentions them when she suggested that the Maids where to be replaced by them in the battle between Ains and Demi's Summon.

Nagasuku

It is not said literally,(because this is anime and they cannot say that) but the Grandmaster told Neia to become Ains' concubine and fulfill all his whims, even those in bed.

Rouoko

Also maids chose Ains white clothes for his meeting with paladins se he will look like Pope or another holy person and impress those belivers of light. In my country is proverb that in translation means "They describe you as they see you"

Rouoko

God, I love this movie, but I kind of wish they made it longer so they could add more stuff from the books but sadly not but one scene would’ve been brutal if they did make it but still love the movie anyways

SmilingGod

Keep in mind that demiurge in anime is considered kind compared in the novel

Rizky Firmansyah

I forgot that today we got a movie.
