Alternate Thumbnails For Glinda/Batman Beyond

 Wicked's one of my favorite musicals, and when the movie was first announced, I knew it was inevitable I was going to do a roleplay! Actually, now that I think about it, the announcement might have been before the channel existed lol. Anyway, this video was a long time in the making! I made this vid before I saw the movie, so I based it on both the book and the musical!

I'm a HUGE musical buff, so I was really excited to pack this one with a ton of references! I based the video on Glinda over Elphaba due to Glinda's really fun, catty personality. She can initially come off as a mean girl, but that doesn't really capture the breadth of her personality. She's more complicated than she seems, and although she can be insecure and self-absorbed, she can also be really nice and a good friend, especially to Elphaba.

I based the look of the vid on what I imagined her dorm would look like, so a lot of pink with a fairy/princess aesthetic! If there's something I would have changed in the vid, I definitely would have liked to have gotten a better angle on the dress I was wearing. That was difficult at the time due to the size of the greenscreen I was previously using, but luckily, that's no longer an issue!

For the Batman Beyond vid, consider it a companion piece to my previous Batman/Nurse vid. I don't say sequel because while I guess it could qualify as one, I consider it it's own thing even if it has similar themes.

I remember when the Batman Beyond show came out, it was polarizing for a couple reasons. The biggest one was that Bruce Wayne WASN'T the main Batman, and some fans considered that the gravest of sins lol. However, I think over time sentiment has changed and there's a lot of goodwill towards it now!

I consider it criminal that Terry McGinnis hasn't had more media outside of comics based on him! He's also kind of in a rough spot. Terry himself is original to the Batman Beyond show, but he was popular enough that he was eventually added to the comics. Since he's the Batman of the future, he doesn't get a lot of time to shine, especially since the passage of time in comics is weird. From my understanding, in the show he's the successor to Bruce Wayne, but in the comics I think it's been retconned that he's now the successor to Damien Wayne, Batman's biological son. Damien's a whole other can of worms so I'm not touching that lol.

Anyway, in the epilogue to Batman Beyond, which was in a whole other show (comics, amiright?) Terry finds out that he's biologically Batman's son, through DC's Nick Fury, Amanda Waller. This turns Terry's worldview upside down, and the Bruce Wayne he thought of as mentor is now a pariah for numerous reasons to him.

The situation is extremely emotionally messy, which make it a prime candidate for a Nurse vid. In the first Batman vid, the Nurse found Bruce beaten emotionally and physically after fighting villains all Halloween night. In this vid, the Nurse found Terry after Bruce is revealed to be his father and he took on a fight he shouldn't have, leaving him with some serious injuries. Both take place at night, in the rain, with the Batmen lying on the ground.

In some ways, I guess they're more alike than they think!
