Lady Yuri enjoys to play music together with her eager lovers. Of course, these 'practice sessions' often end up going to 'other directions'.

Bak Yuri (박유리[朴儒理]) or Lady Yuri is my ancient Korean OC. She is a high-born noblewoman of Silla (신라, ancient Korean kingdom located in southeastern part of the peninsula). She behaves like a virtuous noblewoman publicly, but actually she is having affair with numerous aristocrats.

Lady Yuri is holding a musical instrument called bipa (비파[琵琶]). It is a type of lute that originated in Central Asia, Gandhara, and India. It was introduced to China in the late 4th and early 5th centuries. Then it spread throughout East Asia, including Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. The design is based on surviving 8th century instruments housed in Shosoin (正倉院). Shosoin is a treasure house of Tōdai-ji (東大寺) Temple in Nara, Japan. According to some scholars, these were originally made in Silla and exported to Japan.

The hanging drawing on the background is based on Goguryeo murals from Susalli gobun (수산리 고분). Because almost no drawings or murals from Silla survives, I chose to adapt their northern neighbors tomb murals.

For Lady Yuri's socks and mattress, I used the surviving textiles from Shosoin. Finally, her gold earrings and rings, bead necklace and head ornament, and jade bracelets are all based on Silla artifects on display at the National Museum of Korea.
