Here’s a sneak peek at a few of the new mannequins, all dressed up. It’s so exciting to watch it all come together! I’m really thankful for this moment in life. I feel very solitary yet somehow surrounded by creativity. Each of these costumes represents such interesting times in history. The personalities that created each of these costumes certainly felt this same isolation. The dancers who bravely and bawdily donned these showstoppers were creative machines who embraced their divine femininity, beauty and inner light with a transparent vulnerability and they celebrated, even when they had a bad night, breakup, mourning a loss, car broke down, kid is sick, can’t pay rent, chronic illness, among many other struggles. They were just human but seemed so much more because we always saw them smiling, entertaining, celebrating, sparkling. When I was a makeup artist I could fake it, but really it didn’t matter if I didn’t smile or wasn’t excited to be there. I was there to get a job done and that was it. But this is different. On stage, we set the tone for the room for a matter of moments or hours. Performers are not only doing a job, but They are doing a job and entertaining and sparkling through all the adversity in their lives and in yours. Creating an empowering, fun, free vibe through everyone’s trials and tribulations. That’s showmanship! They made us smile while our lives and the world seemed to be falling apart. Through wars, hunger, the great depression, political upheaval, civil unrest, often pushing forward women’s rights but rarely recognized for it. They were the guinea pigs for governmental regulations regarding nude women’s bodies. They even protested events in history through their art and they did it with a wink and a smile. These costumes and performers deserve their time to shine once again. I’m so happy they are getting it!

The talent it took to make such amazing things 😍

I can hardly fathom the time and meticulous work that must have gone into every one of these beautiful garments. Not all artists work with brushes, some work with a needle and thread. 🎨🪡🥰
