Last week I got back from spending some time at the Nashville AA shop. I always love going to the Marathon Motor Works Building, It's filled with history, the halls look like a museum and the shops inside make it a fun destination to check out for an afternoon. I've noticed over the years it has become a busy stop for tour buses and visitors (located only about 5 minutes from the action on Broadway.) Offering tours of the buildings and special events throughout the year.
After checking out the new items at the shop I took a stroll through the hallways and spent some time looking at the displays - who knew a wall of car jacks could look so cool?!
Has anyone been to the Marathon Motor Works building? What was your favorite spot?

"This Italianate-style 1881 factory first housed the Nashville Cotton Mills, which built the middle section c. 1885. It became Phoenix Cotton Mills in 1894. in 1910 Southern Motor Works of Jackson, Tenn. moved in, becoming Marathon Motor Works in 1911. The final portion of the plant and an elegant office and showroom across Clinton St. were built in 1912. Marathon made vehicles in Jackson (1907-1910) and here (1910-1914). It operated as a parts and service business until 1918..."
