Last time I was in Chicago, my niece and I went to Akira. I had never been before and wasn’t sure that I would find anything I liked, but let me tell you. They have tons of great stuff there for pretty affordable, especially for my burlesque community. And the staff was truly so sweet!

Obviously, shopping small is best but sometimes at the beginning of our stage journey, hell even throughout, there are times where it’s unaffordable to buy everything handmade. I found these jewelry pieces there, they weren’t ridiculously expensive, and they’re stage ready. If I want to take them apart and turn them into something else I can or leave them as is and add them to costumes. Plus they look great in the tub! 😂
