I don’t often post pics of my son because he really did not like fame when he was younger.
Miles always loved privacy and calm peaceful moments so fame was not an option for him, not ever something that interested him so I respected his request as a young man to not be in the limelight but now that he is older he isn’t bothered by that anymore. He just does his thing and lives his life.
Miles is now and has always been private but so funny! This kid is funny as hell! I remember when he was younger and wanted to go to clown college 😂. Yes, clown college. He loved to make folks laugh. Still does. And the boy has timing!
He no longer wants to go to clown college. He has completed multiple welding classes and is now a master welder at John Deere. He is currently supporting his local union brothers and sisters in the Union Strike against Deere.
I know he is torn because all he was always in love with John Deere as a boy. We would regularly have lunch in the cemetery at the Deere family plot by our old house in Moline, Illinois.
Even as a toddler, He loved it there. So quiet amd beautiful. He would memorize the parts to the pavers, tractors, graters, etc. Tractors and trains were his forte. We lived in farmland by the train tracks through most of his youth so he loved his environment enough to make a career out of it.
In spite of this deep love for Deere, he is standing strong with his union to ensure these jobs stay safe, and financially rewarding for those folks who spend most of their lives inside those factories. My son and his workmates work 6 days a week usually. Sometimes 7. The days are long and extremely hot. The work conditions are pretty damn uncomfortable and at times dangerous yet he loves his job enough to fight for a better work environment for everyone in terms of safety and pay.
For more regular updates on the strike follow my insta or Twitter. I mostly repost this strike info on Twitter but am posting more on insta lately.
I pray that my boy Miles and all his co workers are given the proper respect by Deere.
C’mon Deere, with record profits post pandemic, don’t tell me you don’t have enough money to share with those folks who risked their lives during the pandemic to bring you those riches…
