I wonder if she would have laughed in that way she did, or if she would have felt more objectified than she was ready for? She was tough and went toe to toe with the boys but she was a human and did have feelings. I think the book is hilarious but I’m not the one being objectified so I’m allowed the distance emotionally to process it without personally internalizing it but I see her for so much more than a sexual object. I think when we speak of sex this is the most important question. How would this make the other person feel?
Is this consensual fun or is it non consensual or mean spirited in nature? I don’t know the answer because this queen is not here to answer but I know that these books are treasured and cherished by many. The way she inspired folks to embrace the humor in sexuality tells me that she may have been shocked but probably would have found it amusing at least.
