Road Dog Diaries... Today was a good day🌸

So I started the day with lots of feels in my earlier post and I ended the day with lots of feels.

The coolest part about today is that it reinforced the notion that communication conquers all. When in doubt, communicate your feelings. Do it in a loving kind relaxed way if possible, if warranted, but communicate your feelings. Most likely your feelings will never be validated unless you communicate them. I’m thankful to have a loving tribe of people Who are open and honest in their communications with me. Thank you universe for being cool today! I appreciate you and I appreciate my road family.

At 9 o’clock Will pulled up at the hotel and drove me to set, I walked in the shop and was so excited to see everybody’s bright beautiful faces. After a round of hugs and how are yous, we started to talk about important things like the coronavirus, New York City declaring a state of emergency over it, I’m on my way to NYC in a few days, many of the folks I work with on the crew are from New York. Our main office is in New York as well.

It’s always interesting to hear peoples perspectives on big stories and natural disasters. We have so many differing opinions on the crew and I’m always impressed at how so many different personalities can pull together and be so supportive of each other and still be allowed their own autonomy to think how they think and feel how they feel as long as everybody is respectful. It made me realize how rare this is. This is magical shit. To spend this many years together doing the same thing and still have respect love and admiration for one another at the end of every day is a work in love and patience it’s an exercise in patience and allowing people to be. We don’t always have to agree but we do have to agree to get the job done and to do it with as little stress as possible. I’m so proud of my crew, I’m so proud of my boss, they’re pretty darn cool 😎

We started out the day filming in the van, I always love riding around in the van with mike. The Wolfe boys are adventurous drivers so we always end up in the most interesting places. Today led us to an old graveyard in Iowa, I think my grandmother Evelyn colby might be buried in. I didn’t have time to go and look for her grave. I regret it now because I was so close. I should’ve just checked but that would’ve taken too much time. We were still filming. I’m sure Mike would’ve probably stopped filming so that I could go look at my grandmothers grave site but, I didn’t know where it is and our day was already too full so I didn’t ask. We almost got stuck in a cornfield and had a great lunch at the faithful pilot before heading back to Davenport to do some more filming.

So today Herschil was directing me and Herschil and I have a great relationship but he has only directed me a few times, it’s always so funny getting to know each other in a new relationship dynamic. To see somebody start in one place professionally and watch them grow and nurture their career is always exciting. Herschil did a great job today!

Francie is the beautiful dog in the photo. Mike rescued her a while back and I’m pretty sure that she thinks she’s his girlfriend😂 I love Francie, she is a wonderful therapy dog on the road. He always has her with, he hasn’t had a relationship that close with a dog in a while. Mike used to have a really smart, loyal, beautiful blue healer named Scout. Scout was Mike’s best friend, they went everywhere together, Scout was always on the road with Mike picking. Memphis and miles were very little when they met scout and Scout was always so gentle with them. She has passed on a while back but definitely still lives in all of our hearts and I’m so glad that Mike has this beautiful relationship with Francine now.

Now I must sleep 😴 more tomorrow 💗

Query: Do you guys normally cover the large Antique Archeology logo on the van when y'all're out and about?
