Finding a headdress is always difficult, especially when you must perform a highly physical act on stage while trying to keep it on. When selecting this headdress, years ago, it was much smaller and more compact. When it was smaller it was much easier to travel with because it could fit inside my suitcase. Since I added another row of dark green feathers I have made the headdress massive. I wanted the effect but not The travel hassle. Currently when I perform in this costume I have to send the headdress by itself before hand and bring the rest of my costume in suitcases. But it’s worth it! The reaction from the audience is shock and awe! I’ve only performed with this headdress in public at the house of blues Chicago because it is so difficult to travel with but I think I have finally ironed out the issues and look forward to bringing this routine and headdress with me to detroit! I’m thrilled to be performing my reefer madness act at stripping history Detroit’s “an Evening With Sally Rand” this February. Tickets are not yet on sale but will be soon. I will give my patreon a head start on tickets when we are ready to release them.
Question...
Have you ever worn a headdress? How did it make you feel?
I know that when I slip on a headdress I instantly feel powerful. It creates height and draws attention away from insecurities about my body. I wish it was easier to wear them. I would have one for every occasion.
