A Few Stories About Fishnet Stockings

Ever wonder why the slightest peek makes the strongest man weak?

The answer is simple. Less is more. When you catch a quick glimpse of a fishnetted leg, it strikes the imagination because you are allowed the  tiniest peeks of flesh flashing through the elastic fabric. You see almost nothing but there is an implication of everything. This,   compounded by the fact that fishnets were an early staple of striptease.  

Gypsy Rose Lee and many other famous peelers donned fishnet body suits  or leg covering to give the illusion of nudity while avoiding time in the clink. Often times, burlesque artists and striptease artists would  accentuate the “naughty bits” of the fishnet stockings with longer,  tassel like beads. To feign pubic hair, much like a merkin or to make the vagina and breasts appear to be Diamond encrusted while appearing  nude. In the 1930’s the law realized how much money could be made  censoring the female form. And boy howdy, did they ever! While burlesque  designers such as Gussie Gross were designing strategic high end  costumes to prevent performers from being hauled away by the coppers,  less known burlesque performers who could not afford elaborate costumes often times relied on the eroticism and protection of the fishnet  stocking to ensure the audience did not get a scandalous peek of bare flesh but left feeling like they did. Now don’t get me wrong, high end performers definitely used fishnets as well to accentuate their sexuality. 

It’s been noted that the tiniest glimpse of bare flesh is more seductive than a fully naked body. It’s also been noted that the most erotic glimpse of bare flesh is where two pieces of clothing meet  to potentially fully reveal that supple skin. This repeated diamond, double V pattern only accentuates that observation. Fishnets are nothing  but repetitive flashes of bare flesh where two pieces of thin fabric  meet over and over and over again starting at the toe leading up to the  sacred V and often times covering the entire body. As a performer, if  you have never spent time in fishnet stockings or a full fishnet  stocking bodysuit, you are missing out! It combines the Comforting  sensation of compression with the excitement of the appearance of  nudity. It offers the wearer the best of both worlds, tactile and  aesthetic while offering the onlooker the anticipation of sexual  satisfaction. 

My favorite fishnets are Danskin or Capezio industrial fishnets because  the compression factor is much higher. I find that compression factor to  be quite sexy. Your body feels completely hugged by the fabric yet the  fabric is so light weight that you feel almost nude. The sensuality  factor is heightened with industrial fishnets, add a back seam and  you’ve got pure sex! One more selling point to the industrial fishnet is  that they fit any form beautifully and smooth out any dimpling in the  skin. Personally, I love dimpling of the skin, I think it’s the height  of sexiness however, we all like a little change up from time to time.
